Twister Mania on Kinect For Xbox 360 – Review

Twister Mania on Kinect For Xbox 360 – Review

This is not your parents Twister Game! Twister Mania for the Kinect takes the idea behind the game of Twister and brings it to the Kinect in a fun frenzy of a party game.

The two boys absolutely love it, they love the way the competition is setup and they love trying to fit into all the shapes. In some aspects some of the games remind me a bit of Hole In The Wall. Others remind you of some sort of block game, where you try and form the shap to get more pots by knocking out the blocks. But the best one of all is the one where you can form your own shape and try and see if your competitior can match it.

That is the one that the boys just went crazy over, trying to come up with new shapes for the other to match. They also lvoed the fact that you were able to play a bunch of different games and try to get the overall highest score to win. Their games have been fun and competative with some very close battles. Break It Down was also a favorite as it really gives you that sense of achievement when you can make those blocks fully disappear by assuming their form. Both my boys have excelled at the game as they do karate, and my one younger son does dance so it has been helping them work on standing in different poses as well. In our play time we did have one glitch where it would not recongnized the boys anymore. I dont know if it was because they are younger and their size or if the game itself just froze up, but it has only happened once to us in our play time. Overall a nice healthy family game that everyone can play and enjoy.

3 modes, up to 8 players, 16 ways to play, thousands of shapes!

In November 2011, a brand new way to play Twister is coming to Kinect for Xbox 360! Introducing… TwisterTM Mania! This interactive digital Twister® experience allows up to eight players to twist into the action with 16 fun, unique ways to play in a TWISTER- inspired environment filled with iconic, colorful flair.

This outrageous fast-paced party game offers over-the-top hilarity – so don’t hold back as you get your body moving and twisting to fit through cutouts, bend into thousands of forms, mirror your friend’s image, and even clear stacked shapes lightning fast! Play solo to earn the fastest time or team up in co-op for laugh-out-loud tangled-up fun with your family and friends. Twist into wild and crazy fun with TwisterTM Mania!

Use your body as the game piece in this unique Kinect exclusive title that challenges you to twist yourself in thousands of different ways…even the menus react to your body!

Kick start the party by choosing from 3 main game modes:

Party Play: Twirl the virtual spinner and advance around the Twister® mat with up to four teams of two in Party Play, a metagame that combines all game challenges.

Play It All: Try your hand at every game challenge from start to finish in this campaign mode for the overachievers.

Quick Play: Jump right in and directly select any of the 16 ways to play and difficulty level for a quick challenge. Twist, contort, duck and bend through four high-energy game challenges that each feature a range of four variations (total of 16 ways to play) to keep the action unique and challenging

Shape Frenzy: Mimic the shape (there are over 1800!) that appears on screen and earn points based on how well you fill its silhouette.

Twist & Fit: Avoid the wall and fit your silhouette through cutouts coming at you on a moving wall. Score points by passing through a wall without touching a thing; the more wall you hit the lower your score.

Break It Down: Work your way through a stack of colored blocks by assuming their form. When a shape is removed, the wall above will begin to crumble.

Spot On: Challenge up to three players (or four teams of two) in a game of contortion H-O-R-S-E. Create a shape and see if your friends can match it.
Team up with another player for cooperative play or go head-to-head in any game mode. TwisterTM Mania supports up to eight players in turn based pairs.
Relive hilarious, body-comedy moments with family and friends via photos after every play session.

Have three kids, two boys (18 and 16) and a girl (12). I had a grandfather that watched cartoons and read the Sunday funnies until he passed. I feel the same way and continue to watch the Disney channel in my 40s. Check out our BSCKids youtube channel Current favorite show is Amphibia.
