American Idol results for the Rock & Roll week were shocking. As Ryan stated at the start of the night, we all would be shocked by the results. But we first got a chance to hear the top 9 sing all together for once, a mix of “I Love Rock & Roll” and “Sweet Home Alabama.” Then we saw a clip of funnyman Russell Brand giving all 9 advice. It was cute, but I was wondering what on earth could he give them advice about? Yes, he is married to Katy Perry–but he isn’t her!
Then Ryan took it right to business. He called down Stefano, Casey and Lauren. Lauren is told that she is safe, which you can see she was so happy to have it over with. Casey and Stefano were back together wondering who is safe and who is not. Surprise, surprise Casey was safe! This left Stefano back in the bottom 3.
Next was Constantine, who always does an outstanding performance. I was happy that they had him on to sing. Then we saw a clip about Gwen Stefani, who styled all 3 ladies for Wednesday night’s show. After that, Ryan called Pia, Scotty and Paul. I thought Paul was going to be sent to the bottom 3, but it was Pia instead! My mouth dropped open; after all she is a very talented singer who is one the strongest they had all season. But she took it in stride.
We then saw all 9 go to visit TMZ for no real reason. But it did bring some laughter, which was much needed after Pia was sent to the bottom 3. Next James, Jacob, and Haley were called down. James was safe, and I figured Haley would be safe. Well, I was correct–Jacob was in the bottom 3. Of course Mr. Drama (aka: Ryan) had to direct attention to Iggy Pop. I will say Iggy made the mood lighter, and I did enjoy his performance. But we all were worried about who was going to be sent home.
After Iggy’s performance, Jacob was sent back to the couch. I figured that Pia was next, but sadly we all heard the biggest news in AI history: Pia was voted off. Jaws around the country dropped, including those on stage. All 3 judges were horrified by this mistake; how could Stefano make it before Pia? Even he knew that Pia had more of a right to stay on the show than he did. But the save was already used, and Pia was out for good.
I am still in shock–I know most fans assumed that she would be safe. Some have even said this is the revenge of Thia’s fans. But it just does not seem right. How can Haley, Jacob, and Stefano still be on the show?! It will puzzle me for years to come. I hope Pia is offered a record contract, because she has earned it.
