Lizzie Olsen continuing the family tradition

Lizzie Olsen continuing the family tradition

Silent House is one of those single camera type of films that is showing over at Sundance.  It is getting a lot of buzz and it seems that a lot of that buzz is due to Lizzie Olsen who plays a terrified girl in the film which centers around an abandoned summer home.  Lizzie Olsen is the sister of Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen and is now a senior at the NYU Film School.  She is also in a thriller called Martha Macy May Marlene and it said to have killed it in both roles.  For Silent House though it is pretty much all her as the camera follows her through-out the movie, I guess in some Blair Witch Project style.

I guess Lizzie wanted to make her own name for herself instead of riding the coat-tails of her sisters.  It is interesting though to wonder if seeing her sisters acting and learning from them will help her as an actress.  It seems to be the same sort of thing when a football player has a father that was also a football player, while they are different people they still glean some knowledge from the parent or sibling on the job itself.  Plus having some of those special contacts probably does not hurt either.

Here is hoping that Lizzie does well, at least she does not have to worry about being type-cast like her sister may have had to deal with from going to those kid and YA roles to adult roles in acting.  She also has the background with her work at NYU Film School.

Have three kids, two boys (18 and 16) and a girl (12). I had a grandfather that watched cartoons and read the Sunday funnies until he passed. I feel the same way and continue to watch the Disney channel in my 40s. Check out our BSCKids youtube channel Current favorite show is Amphibia.
