Since the moment I was born, Disney was a part of my life. Whether it be movies, shows, toys or even a mere mention of it, a smile would always cross my face. As a child, Disney was a franchise that I consider the most popular in history. Not only did it have attractive animation in films, lovable original characters or great toys on the market, but this company was able to create several of the best music in the world. That’s honestly what I love best about Disney itself: the music.
Being a songwriter is probably not an easy task. Jotting down feelings, events or inspirations on paper sometimes have no words that can express them. Other times though, it’s a natural feeling where you can freely write down everything you wish. Sort of like a diary except in a poetic-type form. All those words are set just right, then music must be considered to create a beautiful masterpiece. Afterward, the song is sang by its chosen artist or actor, brought to life in one of the most lovely ways.
If you ever put one of your favorite Disney DVDs on, most likely there are bonus features. And included in the features usually shows how the music for the film was created. In one of them I’ve seen, they shared how the movie idea came up, a storyboard was made and songwriters were brought in to brainstorm music ideas. Afterward, these songwriters worked together, made the musical pieces and it all went from there working hard to bring it all together to form a brilliant film. Though, I have to say, some music is actually created by the music artist themselves or Disney might decide to get rights of an already created song.
Sometimes they create songs that are loved by many, others aren’t just worth listening to. There were moments during movie watching I’ve skipped over a song or two because I couldn’t stand to hear a specific song or character singing it. Yeah, everybody has those times. But I will say this, Disney musical numbers are some of the best in existence as they are simply beautiful or give off a great beat making you want to sing and dance along.
Quite a few times I’ve shared with you a couple playlists I have for summer time and holiday moments. Trust me when I say there are a variety of playlists I created for different moments of my life. Disney just happens to be my top playlist! And now, I wish to share my playlist with you! Check out my favorite Disney songs to relax to, listen to and dance to.
- “Beauty & The Beast” – Song from “Beauty & The Beast” itself. It’s my top favorite hit and one of the most beautiful ever heard. It is played during their ballroom dance and I can’t help but love it.
- “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” – Song from “Mulan”. This song is fun to sing to along to. Especially when watching the movie. Just watching these civilians attempt to become soldiers is humorous.
- “Kiss The Girl” – Song from “The Little Mermaid”. It’s one of the sweetest pieces of music you can ever hear. I enjoyed this one, but after Ashley Tisdale sang a remix of it, it’s become a top favorite.
- “Your Biggest Fan” – Song from “Jonas LA”. I don’t care much for Jonas Brothers music, but this is one song I got a love for. You can hear the love in the song while having a fun beat to it.
- “Reflection” – Song from “Mulan”. It has some of the most beautiful lyrics I’ve ever heard. It shares powerful emotions that many can relate to.
- “Let It Go” – Song from “Frozen”. I’ve only seen the movie once or twice since it’s release to be honest. But the song is pretty popular and had to join my playlist.
- “Everybody Wants To Be A Cat” – Song from “The Aristocats”. I love and adore cats! And ones who can sing and dance with no problem are great in my book.
- “Cruella de Vil” – Song from “101 Dalmations”. Yep, had to add this one. She is one of my all-time favorite villains and just hearing this can send shivers down my spine.
- “Hakuna Matata” – Song from “The Lion King”. An upbeat song that makes you want to sing and dance to it. It’s right, though. You don’t have any worries once hearing this one.
- “You Ain’t Never Had A Friend Like Me” – Song from “Aladdin”. At first this wasn’t in my playlist, but ever since the passing of the great Robin Williams, I saw the movie once more. Honestly, I forgot this song even existed until watching it again.
- “You’ll Be In My Heart” – Song from “Tarzan”. This has to be my number one fave song from a Disney movie. It’s got powerful lyrics that can pull you in and are able to understand the feelings being shared.
- “Part Of Your World” – Song from “The Little Mermaid”. Yet another great song from the animated film. It’s a song where I was able to understand Ariel’s feelings.
- “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” – Song from “Toy Story”. I enjoy this song because it shares feelings friends sometimes have for one another. People always got a friend in me.
- “Bare Necessities” – Song from “The Jungle Book”. In life you need to look for those “Bare Necessities”. This song makes me smile and cheers me up a lot.
- “Can’t Wait To Be King” – Song from “The Lion King”. It’s upbeat and I find the actions during Simba’s song hilarious. I find myself trying to mimic the animal moves sometimes just because. (Yeah, that secret’s finally out. It’s fun, though)
- “When You Wish Upon A Star” – Song from “Pinocchio”. The movie is actually one of my least fave films, but this slow song was lovely. Had to put it in my playlist.
- “A Whole New World” – Song from “Aladdin”. A nice, slow piece of music that helped bring Jasmine and Aladdin close. It’s got a romantic setting in the film and I find the voices just beautiful.
