Everyone’s favorite and most positive yet rampage-y character from The LEGO Movie is getting her own television series on Cartoon Network! Unikitty and all over her sparkly, rainbow-y, and giant angry thoughts will be the center of a new animated series produced by Warner Bros. Animation aptly named after the blocky kitten herself: “Unikitty!”
In the series, Unikitty is a ruler of her own special kingdom where she just wants to make sure everyone is happy and there isn’t a drop of negativity anywhere to be found. But that doesn’t mean she is all sunshine and rainbows either. While she may be full of boundless energy and creativity, Unikitty is a force to be reckoned with if anyone gets in the way of spreading her positive vibes, especially if anyone makes her little brother and best friend, Puppycorn, sad. Also living in the castle are Dr. Fox, the resident scientist, and Unikitty’s trusty bodyguard, Hawkodile. Through it all, Unikitty and her friends make sure that every day is the happiest and most creative ever.
While Alison Brie voiced the character in the movie, the series will have Tara Strong taking over the titular character along side Grey Griffin (Be Cool Scooby-Doo!) along with Kate Micucci (Be Cool Scooby-Doo!), Roger Craig Smith (Regular Show), Eric Bauza (The Adventures of Puss in Boots) and H. Michael Croner (Review).
This isn’t the first LEGO spin off to make its way to animated television. The LEGO Group has a longstanding partnership with Cartoon Network that has given us shows such as LegoDC Comics: Batman Be-Leaguered, Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out, Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, Legends of Chima, NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu and Mixels.
The premiere date for “Unikitty!” has not yet been announced but stay tuned for more information!
