Capstone & New Horizon Academy Donate Books to Reach Out and Read

February has been designated as “I Love to Read” month and Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, has announced its partnership with New Horizon Academy, one of the nation’s most successful and respected child care providers, to donate children’s books to the nonprofit organization Reach Out and Read.

Im honor of the month, Capstone will be offering a 25% discount on books purchased for donation to Reach Out and Read, as well as matching all book donations to the organization. The New Horizon Academy center with the most books donated will also receive free access to myON reader™, Capstone Digital’s online personalized literacy environment matching students’ interests and reading levels to recommended enhanced digital books. myON reader provides online access to more than 4,000 books with multimedia supports (embedded dictionary, highlighting and audio), customized to a child’s interest and reading ability.

Cara Johnson-Bader, Director of Parent Experiences at New Horizon Academy, said,

“We are delighted about our partnership. As leaders in the education of young children, we understand the importance of helping children learn about giving back to the community. The book drive for Reach Out and Read helps children see the positive impact that they can make in the community. We are impressed with the generosity of Capstone and greatly appreciate their support of this important initiative.”

Maryellen Coughlan, Capstone Director of New Initiatives, also commented,

“Reach Out and Read is uniquely situated to promote early reading skills and school readiness in young children. Capstone is proud to combine our philanthropic efforts with New Horizon Academy to match donations, book for book, and support this important literacy initiative.”
