Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder Still Have Bite In The Vampire Diaries

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are still keeping The Vampire Diaries super hot as it has been killing in the ratings. Even when it is up against major sports it still finds a way to bite the competition in the rear. With the fourth season premiere now behind us and knowing that it is doing well in the ratings, it should be another strong showing for the CW this year. I mean the Elena stuff is just crazy, and when she goes all vampire crazy on Damon, we know we are in for a crazy ride of a season. The CW is showing up strong this year with a bunch of shows that are also doing well in the ratings. So has anything stepped up to be your new favorite show on The CW?

So the question is do Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder bring up the ratings or is it just the story line that has people intriqued enough to tune in every week? From everything I have been hearing they are really flipping the script with Elena. Here is the blurb from the CW on the ratings of its top show right now.

Entering its fourth season, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES still has teeth. With competition including the NFL and MLB playoffs, last night’s premiere was up 13% in women 18-34 (2.6/8 vs. 2.3/8) compared to last year’s season premiere, up 7% in adults 18-49 (1.6/5 vs. 1.5/5), up 3% in total viewers (3.18M vs 3.09M) and held steady in adults 18-34 (1.7/6).

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES outrated both NBC and ABC in the 8:00-9:00 pm hour in adults and women 18-34, and outrated NBC and tied ABC in adults 18-49. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES also outrated NBC in total viewers (3.18 vs. 3.14).

It was THE VAMPIRE DIARIES best performance among women 18-34 in two years (11/11/10).
Compared to this same week last season, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES was up 30% in women 18-34, 14% in adults 18-49, 6% in adults 18-34 and 10% in total viewers.

   It is more so their story line then anything else. Personally, I do not see them developing into big stars after the show ends, although Ian has established himself as a familiar face in the environmental issues which is great. Nina is a cute girl, but her acting skills are questionable

     I disagree, I think Ian will be a big Star even after The Show ends.He is a fantastic Actor and he also is the most know outside of vampire diaries. I only started watching TVD because i heard that Ian was in it and he was the only one that was holding my interest and kept me watching it. I agree with Nina’s acting skills but i love her.

   Honestly? I only watch the Show because of Ian Somerhalder <3 He is the best and hottest actor by far! The Storyline for TVD sucks since Season 3, but Damon keeps me watching…:)

   i watch the show only because of nina dobrev., how can anybody act soooo brilliantly and natural… i have never seen a beautiful and a wonderful actress like nina… one request…pls bring kathrine back… i am missing her in the show veryyyyyy much

   The Vampire Diaries is awesome. I must confess I especially love seeing Ian Somerhalder every week. He is hot and I love him playing Damon. I think Ian can look forward to continued success in his career even after Vampire Diaries is someday off the air. Hope though the show continues for a long long time. Oh almost forgot love Nina as Elena too.

   So the question is do Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder bring up the ratings? My opinion on this is NO. Its funny how people says that he is the main core of the show just because he is smoking hot. I agree he is hot but I watch the show not because of him but because of the storyline. And yes he is a great actor but so far from what have seen Paul Wesley is by far superior actor than him. I feel more emotion toward Paul Wesley acting than Ian. And I find it unfair toward the other actors to say that Ian and Nina brings the ratings up.

    Oh I think Ian & Nina still has what it takes to keep it going. Damon & Elena is the most anticipated couple. Ian does carry the show though.

    Excuse the hell out of me, but Ian and Nina don’t make the show. In fact, I don’t watch this show for either of them. It’s insulting that you would imply that it’s the Ian and Nina show. It’s NOT. There are so many talented and beautiful people on the show: Paul Wesley, Joseph Morgan, Clairre Holt, Kat Graham, Candice Accola, Michael Trevino, Zach Roerig, Steven McQueen, Daniel Gillies. What are they mince meat. What a frreakin insult!!!

    Of course it is only because of Delena that I still watch this show! First when I saw stefan and Elena, I was like nah because I felt nothing from that couple but when I saw Damon – Woohoo! I was instantly drawn in the show completely and reading the comments here, I see that Delena and Nian are liked by the majority! Only the odd ones here and there but need not worry because there are literally massive numbers of fans for Delena compared to the others!

    Of Couse Ian Somerholder is smoking hot, but he is not the main reason I started watching the show! I started watching the show on Netflix a month ago because of the storyline and the relationship between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elana (Nina Dobrev). I kept watching because of how great all the characters are and how well Nina Dobrev plays both Katherine and Elena. Now, I’m hoping season four is just as intense and Elena as a Vampire isn’t a mistake.
