I recently got the chance to attend the Industry Showcase for the upcoming country/pop artist and humanitarian, MacKayla Hunter. She performed at the Hard Rock Café on October 21st in Nashville, Tennessee.
I was so excited to attend the showcase. I’ve met MacKayla before and I could tell then that she has immense talent. This time, we were invited to see her perform again and I wanted to write an opinion piece about her set.
MacKayla is so super nice. I mean, really nice! She greeted me before her set and personally thanked me for attending. I thought this was so great. Not many artists would personally thank a reporter or reviewer for attending. When she was walking around talking to the attendees, MacKayla seemed very confident and very at home in the world she’s chosen. With about 30-40 people there to see her perform, there were many fans of her by the end of the night.
After hearing her perform the first song, everyone could tell that she has an amazing energy for her music. You can tell she loves performing and she loves singing. Also, her lyrics are universal for her fans.
Her second song, “All of Me” was definitely one of my favorites. It was a really great song, and I think it resonated well with the crowd. There were many cheers from the crowd after every song she performed. (and rightfully so)
She took the time to talk to talk to the crowd between songs. I loved this quote from her:
“ I want to say that I am so grateful for the opportunity to play the music from my heart. I want to take you on a musical journey with me.”
She also brought out her guitar and played live for last song of the set. I loved seeing her actually play because it adds a lot of depth to an artist when they are on stage and she handled it wonderfully.
Overall, I loved this showcase. It was fun and I really enjoyed listening to MacKayla perform. I think she is going to go really far in the music industry. I am really proud to say I have aided in anyway to her becoming a star.
