Cressida Cowell’s novel is coming to the big screen from Dreamworks and now we have a second look via this trailer! How to Train Your Dragon will be out both in standard (3-D) theaters and IMAX next March and is sold through two words: Vikings and Dragons!

The two stars are set to to be in New York City in February to host the Pop-Con, and event described for ‘tweens – age 8 to 18 – and set to feature Care Bears on Fire, Push Play, The Naked Brothers Band, Mercy Mercedes, and Natt & Alex Wolff.

The festival experience is now for kids too. On Feb. 20, 2010, Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum will host Pop-Con, an all-day music festival experience for tweens with multiple stages, various vendors and games with the amenities of a family-friendly convention environment. Featuring over half-a-dozen musical artists, skateboarders and young pop icons, Pop-Con aims to be the pop event with the stars the kids want to see.

Roger Ebert, who is perhaps the critical voice of couple of generations when it comes to films has chosen his top 10 animated films and they are A Christmas Carol, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Sita Sings the Blues, 9, Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Ponyo, The Princess and the Frog, Up, and Waltz with Bashir . With his selections, he also links to his reviews of each film.

It’s not my favorite Miyazaki work (Ponyo), but I’m glad anytime I see him on the list that could otherwise have something like Monsters vs. Aliens! What do you think?
