“BeddyByes” Is Expanding Beyond the Screen With New Books, Plush and More

For preschoolers, some of the most familiar parts of the day are often the simplest ones.

Playtime. Snack time. Brushing teeth. Picking out a story. Finally settling down for bed.

“BeddyByes” has built much of its world around those little routines, and now Blue Ant Media is getting ready to bring MeMo, BaBa and friends beyond the screen with a growing collection of books, plush and other products designed to fit right into them.

Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing in the U.K. and Random House Kids in the U.S. have joined as global publishing partners for the preschool brand, alongside global master toy partner Moose Toys. The first wave of products will begin arriving this October, starting with plush and books before the program expands further.

That timing feels particularly natural for “BeddyByes.” Rather than simply putting characters on as many products as possible, Blue Ant says it is taking a phased approach to the brand, focusing on toys, stories and everyday items that can extend what families already do with the series into play and daily routines.

And audiences certainly seem to be spending plenty of time with MeMo and BaBa already.

Episodes of “BeddyByes” generated 3.7 million viewing hours on BBC iPlayer during their first 28 days of availability, with that figure later growing to 10.4 million viewing hours. That continued growth is now giving the preschool series room to stretch beyond CBeebies and BBC iPlayer into something families can physically bring into their homes.

Moose Toys will lead the first U.K. retail rollout with a plush collection featuring MeMo, BaBa and Yummy Dog. The assortment will include talking versions of MeMo and BaBa, alongside a larger Yummy Dog plush, with the collection set to arrive at retailers including The Entertainer, Argos and Amazon beginning in October.

Publishing follows shortly after.

“BeddyByes: Time for BeddyByes” launches October 22 in the U.K. through Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing under the Ladybird imprint and in the U.S. through Random House Kids. The interactive tabbed board book follows MeMo and BaBa as they move through PlayTime, YummyTime, BrushyTime and StoryTime before finally winding down for bed.

For parents of preschoolers, that structure is probably going to feel very familiar.

Three additional titles are planned for early 2027, expanding the collection with “BeddyByes: My First Little Library,” “BeddyByes: Rainbows” and “BeddyByes: MeMo and BaBa’s Friends: A Tabbed Board Book.” The books are already available for preorder.

The U.K. program will continue expanding beyond toys and publishing as well, with apparel from partners including TDP Textiles planned for later this year.

What makes the rollout particularly interesting is how closely it follows the original purpose of the series. “BeddyByes” isn’t a preschool adventure built around saving the day or heading somewhere fantastical. Its magic comes from making the ordinary parts of childhood feel comforting and familiar, turning the rhythms of a day into stories children can recognize.

That gives books and plush a pretty natural place in its world. A BaBa plush can become part of bedtime. A “BeddyByes” board book can become the story before lights out. Even the characters themselves can continue existing with kids after the episode ends without changing what attracted families to the series in the first place.

Blue Ant is leaning into that connection during its fall campaign as well, partnering with parenting expert Heidi Skudder for podcast and social content centered around family routines, including back-to-school transitions and the changing clocks.

For a series built around helping little ones move from one part of the day to the next, there is something fitting about seeing “BeddyByes” take its own next step.

This October, MeMo, BaBa and Yummy Dog are leaving the screen behind for a bit and finding their way onto bookshelves, into toy boxes and—very appropriately—probably more than a few beds.

Jocelin Cap: Mother of three. That does not include the dog or my husband either! We have a full household of fun and we just love trying new products of all varieties. May not watch as many kids shows as the rest of the family though.
