Let’s be honest, all of the Gravity Falls fans are closely following The Doomies and what we hope will be a new show that will be something special. So now that we have some more information about the show with the trailer we can talk about the good, the bad, and the unknown.
We love the animation style, there is something about that detailed background and the characters that make us just happy. No issues there at all. The creepy factor also looks to be at that perfect level to keep the show interesting and exciting, Bobby and Romy are really going to have to deal with some scary monsters and situations in The Doomies ,like that scary hand, that is what we would expect from a show like this.
So far there really hasn’t been any bad that we have seen, they are even dropping all 22 episodes of The Doomies at once. That could be good or bad though because you will have to watch out for spoilers from people that are binge watching and it will also mean a fairly long time for us to wait for the next season should it get picked up. Also we would have loved to see a full commitment from Disney on giving us a certain amount of seasons, but stay tuned for that.
The unknown, we have been burned before on thinking we were going to see the successor to Gravity Falls, but there is something that feels more concrete here than those other shows. We think we have the right level of creepy with The Doomies from Disney based on what we have seen. This is something that is always promised and rarely delivered, but we have hope! The other huge part of the equation for The Doomies to do it for us hinges on two things, serialization and completion. It seems like it will be a serialized show where the overall story is saving the town, we hope that it really feels like there is that overall story and we get clues throughout the series. The second part is completion, we hope that The Doomies has a plan to get to the end already and that they don’t have to worry about making it up as they go along and that we get a limited number of seasons. The best thing about Gravity Falls was that it ended, with one of the best finales ever.

Knowing that The Doomies was selected from a large list of entries at the film festival gives us a lot of hope! The only thing is we haven’t seen a lot of publicity for the show and we hope that people tune in to watch so we get the full story of The Doomies!
