Hear The Music Behind “Minions & Monsters” In New John Powell Featurette

The chaos may steal the spotlight, but every unforgettable Minion adventure has a soundtrack helping bring those hilarious moments to life.

Ahead of the theatrical release of Minions & Monsters on July 1, Illumination has released a brand-new behind-the-scenes featurette highlighting legendary composer John Powell and the music that powers the franchise’s latest animated spectacle.

The new video offers fans a closer look at how Powell crafted the score for the film, blending sweeping orchestral moments with the playful, over-the-top energy that has become synonymous with the Minions. As audiences prepare for another adventure packed with comedy, action and larger-than-life monsters, the featurette showcases just how important the music is in elevating every laugh, chase and emotional beat.

Following the massive success of Despicable Me 4, Minions & Monsters expands Illumination’s record-breaking animated universe with an all-new story that sends the lovable yellow troublemakers into one of their biggest adventures yet.

According to the official synopsis, the film tells the “totally true” story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, accidentally unleashed monsters upon the world and ultimately had to work together to save the planet from the chaos they created.

The impressive voice cast includes Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, Trey Parker, Bobby Moynihan and Phil LaMarr, with franchise veteran Pierre Coffin once again voicing the beloved Minions while also returning to the director’s chair.

With its signature blend of outrageous comedy, larger-than-life action and now a spotlight on the music helping bring it all together, the latest featurette gives fans one more reason to get excited before Minions & Monsters arrives exclusively in theaters on July 1.
