Miraculous Returns With an Emotional Punch in “Mr. Agreste”

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the global debut of Miraculous Ladybug. Over the past decade, fans have watched the storytelling and stakes intensify, and now season six continues to push the beloved franchise into bold new territory.

With the episodes released so far, it’s clear Zag isn’t holding back with this new arc. Even though the season isn’t halfway through, you can already feel how much has shifted in Marinette’s world—and things only seem to be getting more intense.

Thought emotions were already running high before the hiatus? Get ready for an episode that feels like it has been a long time coming. After the break, Miraculous Ladybug returns with what is unquestionably a hallmark installment of the series: “Mr. Agreste.”

We at BSCKids were kindly given a first look at this episode, and we couldn’t be more honored. This is a can’t-miss moment in the series, so we won’t spoil it for you—but you can count on us to deliver a full review and deeper analysis of what the events might mean for the future over at Glowline Hues.

Official Summary:
Marinette finds it increasingly difficult to keep a secret from Adrien… and the arrival of a supervillain who looks just like her old enemy won’t help!

Based on the trailer, fans will be thrilled to see Luka return in this episode. While his role may appear secondary to the core plot, his presence enriches the larger narrative. We gain more insight into why he first left Paris and why he hasn’t yet returned to his family.

But Luka’s return is only one emotional layer. The true focus of the episode lies in confronting personal turmoil and regrets over what could, would, or should have been.

Though Luka wields the power to revisit moments in time, he isn’t the one who most deeply longs for that chance. That weight falls heavily on both Marinette and Adrien—though neither fully realizes the depth of the other’s struggle.

For Marinette, the burden grows heavier as she continues concealing the truth about Gabriel. She’s already seen the toll secrets can take on Alya, and the fear of telling Adrien—of breaking his world further—haunts her.

Adrien, meanwhile, faces his own internal battles as a statue honoring his father is commissioned. While we’ve seen him wrestle with the fallout of Gabriel’s actions, the absence of true closure leaves his emotions raw and unresolved.

Emotions run high throughout this episode, and they aren’t easily resolved. Instead, we witness the lasting consequences of each character’s choices—ramifications that will undoubtedly ripple into the future.

And the post-credit scene? Let’s just say—we’re dying for more.

Secrets, regrets, and emotions cut deep as Miraculous Ladybug season six continues. Be sure to follow the new episodes on Disney Channel and Disney+, and stay tuned to Glowline Hues for reviews and analysis of what comes next. The Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir season six episode “Mister Agreste” will premiere Saturday, September 27 at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Disney Channel and Disney XD.
