After working remotely working together on The Wiggles latest album, ‘Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!,’ that has a country vibe, The Wiggles and Dolly Parton were able to meet in Nashville as the icon of country music and the legendary children’s entertainment band got together. The meeting also helps launch the new music video for The Wiggles’ Cover of Dolly Parton’s ‘Love Is Like A Butterfly’ which Dolly has approved. The Wiggles album also features two collabs written by and featuring Dolly and covers of two of Dolly Parton’s classics, ‘Love Is Like a Butterfly’, and ‘Counting 1 to 5’, which is a kids reimagining of ‘9 to 5’.
After crossing oceans and screens, Australia’s number one music artist, The Wiggles, finally meet country music legend Dolly Parton in person at her Nashville studio, marking a landmark moment in this unique transpacific collaboration.
This highly anticipated face-to-face meeting is the first in-person gathering after the collaborators recorded remotely across continents.
We are excited to share that this meeting coincides with a new music video being released of The Wiggles’ Cover of Dolly Parton’s ‘Love Is Like A Butterfly’ – which has Dolly’s seal of approval.
The meeting celebrates the continued success of The Wiggles’ latest album, ‘Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!’ – a vibrant, toe-tapping country extravaganza that was released in March 2025.
The album features two standout collaborations written by and featuring Dolly Parton; ‘Friends’ and ‘We Will Always Be Friends’. In addition to this, the album includes covers of two Parton classics; the tender ‘Love Is Like a Butterfly’, and ‘Counting 1 to 5’, a playful reimagining of her global hit ‘9 to 5’.
‘Love is Like a Butterfly’ features lead vocals performed by Lucia Field (Blue Wiggle and daughter of OG Blue Wiggle Anthony Field), alongside Lachy Gillespie (Purple Wiggle) who feature in the stunning new music video, complete with a whimsical butterfly fairy, alongside The Wiggles themselves.
‘Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!’ has been praised for its joyful blend of country tunes and family-friendly fun. In addition to Dolly Parton, the album includes collaborations with other major country artists from around the world including Lainey Wilson, Orville Peck, Dasha, Morgan Evans, Jackson Dean, Kaylee Bell, MacKenzie Porter, Troy Cassar-Daley, The Wolfe Brothers, Travis Collins, Lucky Oceans, and the late, great Slim Dusty – making it The Wiggles’ boldest musical venture yet.
The meeting in Nashville highlights a powerful cross-generational and cross-genre partnership that brings together two cultural forces; one an icon of country music, and one a legendary figure in children’s entertainment.
For the past month, The Wiggles have been traveling across the US on their 25-city Bouncing Balls Tour.
