“KPop Demon Hunters” Is Bringing HUNTR/X to Life With an All-New Immersive Gaming Experience!

With the incredible success of Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, it is becoming increasingly clear that the story of HUNTR/X is continuing to grow well beyond the animated film that first introduced audiences to the world of K-pop idols secretly protecting humanity from demons.

And while the music, characters and relationships have played a major role in helping the film connect with audiences around the world, there is something particularly interesting about the ways fans are now getting opportunities to become part of that world themselves.

From merchandise and collectibles to new experiences inspired by the film, KPop Demon Hunters is continuing to find ways to bring its story into the everyday lives of fans.

And now, it’s time to join HUNTR/X on a mission of our own!

Netflix and Immersive Gamebox are teaming up for an all-new interactive gaming experience inspired by KPop Demon Hunters, giving fans an opportunity to step into the world of the animated film and work alongside their favorite demon-hunting idols.

Set to launch at Immersive Gamebox locations across the United States in January 2027, the new experience will bring together music, movement and cooperative gameplay in an adventure that puts players right in the middle of the action.

And unlike traditional video games, this time the players themselves will be responsible for making things happen.

Developed in collaboration with Netflix, the new KPop Demon Hunters experience uses 3D motion tracking, projection mapping, touch-sensitive walls and spatial audio to create an interactive environment where players can move, react and work together as they explore locations inspired by the film.

But don’t worry about needing to wear a bulky virtual reality headset.

Instead, participants will wear motion-tracking headwear that allows the system to follow their movements, making it possible to interact with the game through physical actions rather than traditional controllers.

And considering how important movement and music are to the world of KPop Demon Hunters, it’s a rather fitting approach to bringing the film into a new medium.

The adventure begins with players creating their very own personalized superfan avatars, choosing their appearance, outfits and accessories before entering the world of HUNTR/X.

From there, it’s time to get to work.

Players will join HUNTR/X as they set out to protect the Honmoon, taking on a collection of interactive challenges and physical minigames inspired by the characters, locations and memorable moments from the film.

Throughout the experience, groups will have to move, react and cooperate as they work through different challenges, bringing a little of the energy of the film’s action sequences into a shared gaming environment.

And while the exact collection of minigames has not yet been revealed, the experience is being designed to welcome everyone from longtime fans who know the film’s music by heart to families and groups of friends simply looking for something new to enjoy together.

Something that makes this collaboration particularly interesting is the way it approaches the idea of bringing an animated property to life.

After all, KPop Demon Hunters is a story that has always had a strong connection between its music and its action.

The performances of HUNTR/X aren’t simply something happening in the background of the story. They are an important part of the characters’ identities and the larger conflict surrounding the Honmoon, bringing together their lives as performers and their responsibilities as demon hunters.

And with an experience that relies on physical movement, teamwork and music, Immersive Gamebox has an opportunity to explore those elements in a way that allows audiences to participate rather than simply watch.

It’s also another example of the growing interest in immersive entertainment experiences that take familiar characters and stories beyond their original mediums.

While theme parks and traditional attractions have long offered opportunities for fans to step into fictional worlds, newer interactive experiences are increasingly exploring ways to combine gaming technology with real-world movement, creating activities that can be enjoyed by groups of friends and families.

And for a property like KPop Demon Hunters, where the relationship between the characters and the energy of their performances are such important parts of the appeal, bringing fans together through a cooperative experience feels like a natural extension of the film.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Immersive Gamebox has partnered with Netflix to bring one of the streaming platform’s properties into an interactive setting.

The company has previously introduced experiences inspired by Squid Game and Floor Is Lava, with the upcoming KPop Demon Hunters collaboration continuing that relationship through a property with a particularly strong connection to music and fandom.

Lisa Paton, CEO of Immersive Gamebox, shared the company’s excitement surrounding the collaboration, highlighting the importance of music, movement and the collective energy of fans to the film’s success, as well as the opportunity to transform that excitement into an experience people can enjoy together.

And as KPop Demon Hunters continues expanding into new forms of entertainment, there is something rather exciting about seeing the franchise explore experiences that allow fans to become part of its world.

Because while watching HUNTR/X take on the forces threatening the Honmoon is certainly entertaining, getting the opportunity to step into that world and help protect it brings a completely different kind of adventure.

The KPop Demon Hunters immersive gaming experience will launch at Immersive Gamebox locations across the United States in January 2027, with tickets scheduled to become available in December 2026.

And for fans who have spent months singing along with HUNTR/X and following their adventures, it looks like there will soon be another way to experience the world of KPop Demon Hunters.

This time, however, you won’t just be cheering the girls on from the sidelines.

You’ll be joining them on the mission!
