There are few things Sam, Clover and Alex know better than saving the world.
Fashion, however, is unquestionably one of them.
So, as “Totally Spies!” continues celebrating an incredible 25 years of missions, gadgets, friendship and some seriously memorable looks, it only seems appropriate that the latest additions to the franchise’s anniversary celebrations are putting fashion front and center.
Banijay Kids & Family has announced several new “Totally Spies!” licensing partnerships spanning apparel, streetwear, jewelry and publishing, continuing to expand the franchise beyond the screen as it celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026.
And really, if there was ever an animated series made for this particular moment, “Totally Spies!” has quite the argument.
First introduced in 2001, the series arrived with a combination that was difficult to miss. Sam, Clover and Alex could be dealing with school, friendships and everyday life one minute before being sent off on another outrageous mission the next, complete with colorful gadgets, action and a fashion identity that became almost as recognizable as the spies themselves.
Twenty-five years later, those original fans have grown up.
“Totally Spies!” hasn’t.
Instead, the franchise is finding ways to exist for both of its generations at once.
Oceanus is developing a new apparel range inspired by the series, while independent online apparel and streetwear brand Subtle Screenz will launch its own fandom-inspired collection across North America.
Naturally, Clover would probably approve.
The spies are also making their way into jewelry. July Child will introduce a “Totally Spies!”-inspired collection later this year, while Spanish jewelry brand Marta Fontanals is preparing another collection that will be available to fans worldwide.
Meanwhile, Hachette Heroes is expanding the franchise’s publishing lineup with two additional “Totally Spies!” titles arriving next spring. Those releases follow the company’s previously released adult coloring book, another example of how the property is increasingly finding products designed for the fans who first met the trio years ago.
That’s what makes this particular anniversary especially interesting.
Nostalgia is certainly part of the equation, but “Totally Spies!” isn’t simply looking backward at 25 years of history. After an 11-year hiatus, Sam, Clover and Alex returned in 2024 for a seventh season, introducing their colorful world of espionage to another generation of viewers.
And their missions aren’t finished yet.
An eighth season has already been confirmed in collaboration with Gulli and Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA, meaning today’s kids can discover the trio through new adventures while longtime fans have an expanding collection of products that speaks directly to the style and characters they grew up loving.
It creates a rather perfect situation for a franchise like this one.
“Totally Spies!” was fashionable in 2001. Its bright colors, memorable outfits and blend of action with everyday teenage life were baked into its identity from the beginning. Now, 25 years later, fashion and lifestyle collaborations allow that identity to grow up without leaving behind the animated series that started everything.
For Banijay Kids & Family, these new partnerships are part of a larger effort to build on the momentum surrounding the anniversary while serving both longtime fans and the new audience discovering the Spies today.
And after 25 years, Sam, Clover and Alex have certainly earned a little celebration.
They’ve survived villains.
They’ve survived countless missions.
They’ve survived high school.
And perhaps most impressively, they’ve survived 25 years of changing fashion trends only to find themselves stylish all over again.
Some things really are totally timeless.
