Get ready to return to Bird Island because Red, Chuck, Bomb and the rest of the flock are preparing to make their way back to the big screen for a very special celebration!
It’s hard to believe that an entire decade has passed since the world of Angry Birds made the leap from the incredibly popular video game franchise to the world of animated feature films. And while the characters have certainly been on quite a few adventures since then, there is something special about returning to the film that first introduced audiences to their rather chaotic world.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Angry Birds Movie, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Iconic Events Releasing have announced that the animated comedy will return to select theaters nationwide beginning November 13, 2026, for a special week-long theatrical engagement.
Originally released on May 20, 2016, The Angry Birds Movie introduced moviegoers to an island populated by a rather colorful assortment of flightless birds. Among them is Red, a particularly temperamental bird who has never quite fit in with the rest of his cheerful neighbors. Alongside the speedy Chuck and explosive Bomb, Red soon finds himself investigating the arrival of some mysterious green pigs whose intentions aren’t quite as innocent as they might seem.
And, as fans already know, things only become more chaotic from there!
The film features an impressive voice cast led by Jason Sudeikis as Red, Josh Gad as Chuck and Danny McBride as Bomb, alongside Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage and several other familiar names.
Upon its original release, The Angry Birds Movie became a box-office success, earning more than $350 million worldwide and becoming one of the year’s ten highest-grossing animated films globally.
The anniversary celebration also comes at a rather exciting time for the franchise, with The Angry Birds Movie 3 scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 23. That means families will have an opportunity to revisit the flock’s very first cinematic adventure before joining them for their next one!
Tickets for the 10th anniversary theatrical re-release are now available, with additional information and participating theaters available through Iconic Events Releasing.
Whether you’re revisiting Bird Island for the first time in years or introducing a new generation of young fans to Red and his friends, it looks like November is going to be a rather angry celebration!
