For more than five decades, Sesame Street has been a special part of childhood for generations of families, introducing young viewers to some of the most recognizable characters in children’s entertainment while helping them discover important lessons about the world around them. And while the neighborhood has certainly undergone plenty of changes over the years, one thing has remained the same. The wonderful way Elmo, Cookie Monster and their friends continue to make learning an adventure filled with laughter, imagination and heart.
And this November, we’re heading back to the neighborhood for another exciting season!
Sesame Workshop has officially announced that the 57th season of Sesame Street will premiere November 23, 2026, on Netflix and PBS KIDS, bringing an all-new collection of stories focused on kindness, compassion, friendship and learning how to navigate some of life’s biggest feelings.
Joining Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, Grover and the rest of the neighborhood will be an exciting assortment of celebrity guests, including Zara Larsson, Post Malone, Tyler James Williams and Michelle Buteau.
And for music fans, there is something particularly special to look forward to!
International pop star Zara Larsson will join Elmo, Abby and Cookie Monster for an original song titled “Puppy Dance Party” during an episode that follows Elmo and Tango as they prepare a special playdate. But when a present for Tango’s cousin Mambo doesn’t arrive, the friends turn to Mail Monster Grover for a little help.
Throughout the season, young viewers will also join Elmo and his friends for a treasure hunt that explores the importance of including others, help Abby navigate saying goodbye to a special friend and discover how Elmo learns to manage feelings of jealousy during a family game night.
Each episode will feature an interactive 11-minute adventure designed to encourage children to participate in the story while exploring important social and emotional lessons. From understanding their feelings to apologizing, taking turns and helping friends through difficult moments, the new season will continue Sesame Street’s longstanding approach to introducing meaningful lessons through familiar everyday situations.
And that’s not all!
Fan-favorite segments Elmo’s World and Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck will return alongside Tales from 123, the animated series of comedic adventures taking place inside the neighborhood’s famous apartment building. A new game inspired by the segment, Delivery Dash, will also arrive on PBS KIDS in November.
The upcoming season will be released in three volumes, with the first arriving November 23 and the remaining two following in 2027. Episodes will debut simultaneously on Netflix and PBS KIDS in the United States, ensuring families can continue enjoying the series for free through PBS stations, the PBS KIDS Channel and its streaming platforms.
With new episodes available in more than 30 languages globally through Netflix, the neighborhood will also be welcoming even more young viewers from around the world.
And with Sesame Workshop and Netflix recently extending their partnership through Season 62, alongside plans for a new Sesame Street feature film, there are plenty of adventures still ahead for the familiar faces of 123 Sesame Street!
