Screen time can be fun.
It can be educational.
And sometimes, with a little help from characters kids already know and love, it can very easily be both.
PlayKids Learning is making its collection of kid-focused learning entertainment available to even more families across Latin America through new distribution partnerships with Disney+ in Brazil and Premium Subscriptions on The Roku Channel in Mexico.
For parents, that means another way to put familiar faces like “PAW Patrol,” “Pocoyo,” “Numberblocks,” “Alphablocks” and “Daniel Tiger” in front of young viewers while giving that screen time a little extra purpose.
PlayKids Learning is built around safe, ad-free entertainment that combines recognizable children’s characters with educational programming and interactive play. Across the complete service, families can find more than 1,600 hours of content, over 60 Original titles and more than 150 interactive games available across over eight languages.
That’s a lot of learning—and quite a few familiar friends to do it with.
In Brazil, PlayKids Learning is now available through Disney+ Perks, giving Disney+ subscribers access to the children’s platform as part of the program. The partnership brings the two family-focused services together while giving parents another option for finding enriching entertainment for younger children.
The Brazilian offering has also been localized specifically for families in the country, with 230 hours of Portuguese content, 30 Original titles and 124 games. Young viewers can find shows including “Pocoyo Nursery Rhymes,” “Lottie Dottie Chicken,” “I Love to Learn,” “Masha and the Bear” and “Om Nom Stories.”
And Brazil isn’t the only place PlayKids Learning is finding a new home.
The service became available through Premium Subscriptions on The Roku Channel in Mexico last month, expanding PlayKids Learning’s existing relationship with Roku beyond its availability in the United States.
Families in Mexico can access localized Spanish content alongside nine PlayKids Original titles. The lineup includes “Daniel Tiger,” “Where’s Chicky?,” “Lottie Dottie Chicken,” “I Love to Learn” and “Cleo and Cuquin,” combining recognizable children’s programming with PlayKids’ own educational offerings.
There is more on the way too.
Beginning October 15, PlayKids Learning will start adding another 17 shows to its Mexican offering throughout the month, giving families an even larger collection to explore.
For young viewers, though, the appeal is considerably simpler than international distribution agreements.
They get characters they recognize.
Parents get content designed around learning, creativity and foundational life skills.
And everyone gets something that is still supposed to be fun.
That balance has become increasingly important as families navigate just how much time children spend with screens. Educational content doesn’t necessarily have to feel like a lesson, particularly when children are exploring numbers alongside the “Numberblocks,” learning through play or simply following a character they already love into something new.
As Sandbox Group Co-Founder and President Abhi Arya explains, the goal is to make screen time feel purposeful without sacrificing the characters and entertainment children enjoy. These new partnerships also allow PlayKids Learning to meet families on services they’re already using rather than asking them to discover the platform entirely on their own.
It’s an approach that has already taken PlayKids Learning considerably farther than Brazil and Mexico.
Since launching in 2013, the service has reached more than 70 million families across over 180 countries. During 2026 alone, PlayKids Learning expanded or strengthened its presence across more than 10 countries spanning the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Latin America.
Now Disney+ and Roku are helping open the door to even more families.
Because sometimes the best kind of screen time is the kind where kids are having so much fun with their favorite characters, they don’t even realize how much they’re learning along the way.
