Magic is in the air.
It isn’t strictly because Halloween is nearing, but rather because we are getting ready to return to one of our favorite magical schools, located on the famed Unicorn Island.
Ahead of the upcoming new chapter of Unicorn Academy: Secrets Revealed, releasing this week on October 8, the official YouTube channel has released a new music video, “How To Fly.”
While not completely musically driven, Unicorn Academy has had some very strong musical tracks. Yet, we have to admit that “How To Fly” may be one of the most exceptional songs the series has released to date. The soft, melodic instrumentation and truly lyrical messaging make it feel empowering, enchanting, elegant and even a little emotional.
With the heartfelt lyrics and visuals showcasing some truly gorgeous flying scenes between the riders and their unicorns — along with their power-up transformations — the words about following dreams and learning to fly take on even more meaning. We are hearing those sentiments while watching these characters, once more, change before us.
And it really does follow suit with everything these characters have gone through so far to reach what may be their most personal and deeply rooted mission yet.
It’s no longer about saving a lost parent or making things right after difficult choices. It’s about coming to terms with the past and trying to save part of the legacy they all live and breathe each day as Unicorn Riders.
There are stakes, sure. But this time, it feels closer to home and more emotional than simply facing another island-ending threat.
They have learned, grown, fallen and gotten back up throughout every adventure that has brought them here.
Now, it almost feels like they are reaching an ending only they can write.
This is what that sounds like.
