It’s sports season, Peppa Pig!
And it looks like everyone’s favorite little pig is getting ready to trade her muddy puddles for something a little different.
A football pitch!
For generations, sports have brought families together, whether they’re cheering from the stands, watching their favorite teams compete on television or heading outside to kick a ball around with friends. And while the excitement of a big match might seem like something reserved for older children and adults, there’s plenty about the world of sports that even the youngest fans can enjoy.
After all, you don’t have to be a professional athlete to understand the importance of teamwork, friendship and giving something new a try.
And who better to introduce those lessons to preschoolers than Peppa Pig?
Hasbro and The Football Association have announced a new multi-year collaboration that will bring “Peppa Pig” into the world of England national football for the very first time. Set to launch in summer 2027, the partnership will introduce original animated content, new products, publishing and additional experiences designed to bring the excitement of football to young children and their families.
But Peppa won’t be exploring the sport alone.
Joining the world of “Peppa Pig” is a brand-new character named Libby Lioness, voiced by none other than England football icon Jill Scott.
The former England international will lend her voice to Libby as the character helps introduce young viewers to football through the familiar warmth, humor and everyday adventures that have made “Peppa Pig” a preschool favorite for generations.
And considering how much Peppa and her friends already enjoy playing together, we have a feeling a football match could become quite the adventure.
The collaboration will include a special two-part “Peppa Pig” broadcast event, giving young audiences an opportunity to discover the excitement of England football alongside their favorite characters. Additional stories will arrive through dedicated “Peppa Pig Tales” episodes on YouTube, with branded digital content expanding the experience across online and social platforms.
Families can also expect new consumer products and publishing releases inspired by the collaboration, bringing the fun of Peppa’s football adventures beyond the screen.
But perhaps the most interesting part of this partnership is what it could mean for children discovering sports for the first time.
For preschoolers, playing football isn’t necessarily about winning a match, scoring the most goals or becoming the next big sporting star. It’s about learning how to play alongside others, developing confidence, understanding that everyone has something to contribute and discovering that trying something unfamiliar can be an adventure in itself.
Those ideas have always been an important part of Peppa’s world.
Whether she’s spending time with her family, exploring something new with her classmates or learning a lesson through an everyday experience, Peppa’s adventures have a way of making big concepts feel approachable to younger audiences.
And football offers plenty of opportunities for those same lessons to take shape.
Sometimes you’ll score a goal. Other times you’ll miss. You might fall over, make a mistake or discover that someone else is better at a particular skill. But learning to keep trying, encourage your teammates and have fun together is just as important as anything happening on the scoreboard.
With Jill Scott joining the cast as Libby Lioness, the collaboration also brings a recognizable figure from England’s football history into a world designed specifically for younger children. It’s a connection that could help introduce preschoolers to the sport while giving football-loving parents another experience to share with their little ones.
As Hasbro continues finding new ways to expand Peppa’s world, this latest collaboration feels like another opportunity to bring familiar childhood experiences into the series through play, imagination and storytelling.
And with the first content and products arriving in summer 2027, there’s still plenty of time for Peppa and her friends to get ready for their big football adventure.
We just have one question.
Will muddy puddles be allowed on the pitch?
Because if there’s one thing we know about Peppa Pig, it’s that a little mud has never stopped her from having fun.
