That’s right, gather your crew and prepare to hit the tracks because the newest chapter of Hot Wheels Let’s Race is about to begin. And this time, Coop and his friends are preparing to take on an adventure unlike anything they have faced before. One that will see them racing against time to save Hot Wheels City from a threat that has been waiting millions of years to make its grand appearance.
Since making its Netflix debut in 2024, Hot Wheels Let’s Race has introduced a new generation of young fans to the thrilling world of Hot Wheels City. Bringing the excitement of the beloved toy brand to life through colorful animation, unforgettable vehicles, and plenty of high-speed adventures. Now, with a new animated special on the horizon, fans are getting ready to return to this world for what promises to be one of the biggest adventures in the series to date.
Coming to Netflix on October 20, Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Attack of the T-Rex will see Coop and his crew facing a prehistoric threat that could spell disaster for everything they know and love. Because while Hot Wheels City might be known for its thrilling races, elaborate tracks, and incredible vehicles, there is something far more mysterious hiding beneath its bustling streets. Something that has remained undisturbed for millions of years, just waiting for the moment when it would once again awaken.
Deep beneath the tracks of Hot Wheels City, a legendary T-Rex has been slumbering for millions of years. But when the prehistoric predator is accidentally awakened, what should have remained a piece of ancient history suddenly becomes a very real danger to the city’s future. With the Ultimate Garage and all of Hot Wheels City facing destruction, it falls upon Coop, the new leader of the Ultimate Garage, and his friends to find a way to stop the dinosaur before it is too late.
However, this is not going to be an ordinary race against time. As the crew works to uncover the ancient secret behind the T-Rex’s incredible power, they will find themselves discovering something that could change everything they thought they knew about the world around them. Because hidden within this prehistoric mystery is something even more unexpected: the secret origins of Hot Wheels City itself.
And for fans who have followed Coop and his friends throughout their adventures, this newest chapter promises to deliver more than just another thrilling race. With a larger adventure, plenty of action, and a mystery that reaches back to the very beginnings of Hot Wheels City, the upcoming special is looking to take everything fans have come to enjoy about the series to an entirely new level.
“With Attack of the T-Rex, we’re raising the bar for Hot Wheels Let’s Race,” said Rob David, Executive Producer and Senior Vice President, Mattel Studios Animation. “This special delivers our biggest, most cinematic and action-packed adventure yet, with the humor and heart fans have come to expect. Plus, the secret origin of Hot Wheels City is revealed! We can’t wait for audiences to join Coop and the crew on their next ride.”
Of course, it would not be a Hot Wheels adventure without giving young fans the chance to bring some of that high-speed excitement into their own homes. And with the arrival of this newest animated adventure, Mattel is doing just that with a new playset inspired by the prehistoric excitement awaiting viewers.
Available now at retailers globally, the Hot Wheels City Ultimate T-Rex Garage brings one of the biggest elements of the upcoming special into the world of play. Featuring an extra-large T-Rex, a four-car elevator, storage space for more than 50 vehicles, and Speed Snap compatibility, the playset allows young racers to recreate some of the excitement from the animated adventure while creating entirely new stories and challenges of their own.
And with the popularity that Hot Wheels Let’s Race has enjoyed since its debut, there is little question that fans will be eager to see what this newest adventure has in store. Since premiering in 2024, the animated series has spent five weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10, accumulating an impressive 11.4 million views and continuing to introduce the world of Hot Wheels to audiences around the globe.
Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Attack of the T-Rex is executive produced by Rob David, Mike Roberts, and Melanie Shannon. Following its Netflix debut, the animated special is also slated to arrive on the official Hot Wheels YouTube channel in the spring.
