When it comes to racing through colorful worlds, collecting rings and facing off against some rather unusual enemies, there are few characters who know how to have an adventure quite like Sonic the Hedgehog.
For more than three decades, SEGA’s iconic blue hedgehog has been racing his way into the hearts of fans through video games, animated adventures, movies and an ever-growing collection of merchandise.
And while Sonic is certainly no stranger to an exciting adventure, his next destination might be a little closer to home than the Green Hill Zone.
Because this time, he’s heading to the arcade!
SEGA and Round1 USA have announced a new, limited-time “Sonic the Hedgehog” collaboration, bringing Sonic and his friends to Round1 entertainment venues across the United States beginning October 21, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT.
And considering Round1’s collection of arcade games, bowling, crane machines and other activities, it seems like a rather fitting destination for a hedgehog who is always looking for something exciting to do.
The collaboration features original artwork showcasing Sonic and his friends enjoying some of Round1’s signature activities, giving fans a new look at their favorite characters outside their usual high-speed adventures.
But that’s only the beginning.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover a collection of exclusive merchandise, themed food and drinks, and collectible items celebrating the world of Sonic.
Among the offerings are two designs of limited-edition Sonic the Hedgehog Club Cards, exclusive acrylic keychains and collectible drink cups featuring two different designs.
And for fans who enjoy a little mystery with their collectibles, the collaboration will also feature 12 mystery character coasters available as part of the themed food and beverage offerings.
Of course, Sonic isn’t arriving alone.
A character sticker featuring Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Shadow will bring several familiar faces together, giving fans another opportunity to celebrate their favorite members of the Sonic universe.
The merchandise lineup also includes two exclusive playmat designs, a five-piece stationery set featuring a notebook, pen, sticker, correction pen and ruler, and a limited-edition blanket.
And what would an arcade collaboration be without a little excitement from the crane machines?
Round1 USA will also offer exclusive Sonic-themed crane items, giving visitors another reason to test their skills during their next visit.
For families, the collaboration offers a fun opportunity to combine an outing to an entertainment venue with the excitement of discovering themed collectibles inspired by a familiar franchise.
And for longtime Sonic fans, there’s something rather charming about seeing these characters enjoying activities outside their usual adventures.
After all, Sonic might be famous for his incredible speed, but even the fastest hedgehog deserves a little time to have fun with his friends.
The collaboration will be available for a limited time at Round1 USA locations nationwide, although an ending date has not been announced.
