For years, “Gabby’s Dollhouse” has made one thing abundantly clear.
Cats rule.
There are baking cats, music-loving cats, crafty cats, mermaid cats and enough other feline friends to make Gabby’s magical dollhouse one very crowded place.
But now?
It’s time to let the dogs in.
DreamWorks Animation is getting ready to expand the incredibly successful “Gabby’s Dollhouse” universe with “Doozie’s Doghouse,” and Universal is already looking far beyond the upcoming Netflix spin-off as it prepares to introduce new licensing opportunities surrounding Doozie and her pack of puppy pals at Brand Licensing Europe 2026.
“Doozie’s Doghouse” will establish a world capable of standing on its own while keeping the door between the two series very much open. Gabby and her familiar cat friends will be able to cross over into Doozie’s adventures, while Doozie and the Doghouse crew can make their own visits into Gabby’s world.
And some of those introductions have already happened.
Fans first met Doozie and several of the Doozie Dogs through two crossover episodes in Season 14 of “Gabby’s Dollhouse,” which debuted on Netflix on September 14. That gives young viewers a chance to become familiar with the new pups before “Doozie’s Doghouse” makes its standalone debut in November.
If the early response is any indication, plenty of families have already been paying attention.
The “Gabby’s Dollhouse” Season 14 trailer generated 4.8 million views during its first week, becoming the biggest television trailer launch in DreamWorks Animation history. That is quite the welcome mat to put down before Doozie even gets the keys to her own series.
But “Doozie’s Doghouse” is also arriving at a fascinating point in the life of “Gabby’s Dollhouse.”
Since making its debut in 2021, the preschool series has grown far beyond its original Netflix home. With more than 80 episodes and millions of fans around the world, “Gabby’s Dollhouse” is currently Netflix’s fourth most-viewed series ever, while the larger franchise now stretches across toys, gaming, music, digital content and live experiences.
And then there is that dollhouse.
Spin Master’s hero “Gabby’s Dollhouse” toy sold out when it originally launched and has since surpassed 4 million dollhouses sold around the world. In 2026, the franchise expanded into an entirely different kind of play as the Universal Kids Resort opened in Frisco, Texas, allowing families to physically step into the Isle of Curiosity, experience Gabby’s Cat-Tastic Dance Party and even pick up a treat from Cakey’s Cupcakes.
So when Universal talks about “Doozie’s Doghouse” as another way to expand this universe, it is building from a pretty enormous foundation.
This time, however, puppies get to bring something different to the playroom.
Doozie introduces a new collection of characters, personalities and stories centered around children’s natural love of pets and animals. Universal sees those additions creating new possibilities for toys, collectibles and imaginative play, while Brand Licensing Europe will also be used to explore opportunities across fashion, lifestyle and other categories.
The relationship between Gabby and Doozie provides another particularly interesting possibility. Rather than completely separating the cats and dogs into their own corners, Universal is looking at products and collections capable of connecting both worlds.
Because apparently we don’t have to choose between Team Cat and Team Dog after all.
DreamWorks Animation, Netflix and Universal are also preparing a larger “Get to Know Doozie” campaign surrounding the spin-off. The rollout will stretch across YouTube, Roblox and other digital channels alongside field marketing, social content, creator partnerships and live experiences.
Gabby isn’t going anywhere, either.
Universal says investment in the original “Gabby’s Dollhouse” franchise will continue across content, consumer products, gaming, digital experiences and more, with Doozie adding another entry point into the larger universe rather than replacing the world families already know.
And that may be the most interesting part of this entire expansion.
“Gabby’s Dollhouse” began with a girl, a magical dollhouse and a whole lot of cats. Five years later, it has become large enough to support another cast, another series and another entire play pattern while still allowing the two worlds to meet.
“Doozie’s Doghouse” will make its standalone debut on Netflix in November, with Universal showcasing both properties at Brand Licensing Europe 2026.
So, cats, you have had a very good run.
But you may need to make a little room in the dollhouse.
The puppies are moving in.
