“Winx Club” Releses Music Video With Zara Larsson And Teases Connected Universe

2026 has been a magical year as far as animation has been concerned.

And turning up the magic has been Rainbow’s long-lasting magical girl series, Winx Club. Back with its new reboot, the series has already released the second third of its first season this summer on global streaming platform Netflix. The excitement surrounding this newly retold adventure for the famed six fairies has captured viewers across the globe.

Ahead of the release of the yet-to-be-defined final segment of the reboot, Winx Club: The Magic Is Back, Rainbow has partnered with global music artist — and Winx Club fan — Zara Larsson to create a new magical music video.

Set to her song “Midnight Sun,” the music video sees Zara enter the world of the fairies as she joins them across Alfea and even unlocks a magical fairy form of her very own.

There’s something undeniably fun about watching an artist — and fellow Winx Club fan — live out the fantasy countless viewers have imagined themselves: stepping inside the magical world of the series, sharing those one-on-one moments with each unique girl, exploring the school of many fans’ dreams and, naturally, unlocking a pair of fairy wings.

All while dancing along to one of the biggest tunes.

It’s fun and truly spectacular.

Truly embodying some of the best things about Winx Club.

Though that alone isn’t what makes this music video stand out.

Look closely at the very beginning of the video and there’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it detail that might have considerably larger implications for Rainbow’s magical worlds.

Three pairs of mermaid tails.

And not just any mermaid tails.

They belong to the leads of Rainbow’s other magical girl series, Mermaid Magic.

In the past, Rainbow has expanded its storytelling through other series and worlds outside of those directly connected to Winx Club. But the inclusion of the Mermaid Magic leads here creates an interesting connection between two of Rainbow’s magical properties.

If this is more than a simple Easter egg, it could mark the first indication that a Rainbow series without direct Winx Club roots exists within — or is at least connected to — the same magical universe.

And that is a highly interesting development we cannot wait to see potentially explored further as The Magic Is Back continues.

Could this tiny moment eventually develop into something more?

For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Until then, fans are awaiting the epic finale of the first season of Winx Club: The Magic Is Back, as well as the second season of Mermaid Magic — which has already been teased as coming soon.
