Hasbro Music is continuing to bring even more of the iconic music from the original 1980s “Jem” animated series into the modern era.
Only this time, Jem and the Holograms are going to have to share the spotlight.
The Misfits are back.
Hasbro Music has released “Click Clash,” a newly reimagined version of the classic battle-of-the-bands track that once again places Jem and the Holograms against their longtime musical rivals.
And yes.
It is already on loop in our playlist.
The new release is particularly exciting because it expands Hasbro’s recent musical revival beyond Jem and her band and into the larger discography surrounding the original series.
After all, you can’t really celebrate the music of “Jem” without The Misfits.
The rivalry between the two groups was one of the defining pieces of the original animated series, with their competing songs helping turn episodes into miniature musical battles alongside all the wonderfully over-the-top drama surrounding them.
“Click Clash” brings that rivalry forward into 2026 with a newly reimagined sound while maintaining another direct connection to the series that started it all.
Ellen Bernfeld, also known musically as Norma Human, appears on the new track. Bernfeld provided the original speaking voice of Misfits frontwoman Pizzazz in the animated series, giving the release another bridge between the original “Jem” era and Hasbro’s current revival.
It is also becoming increasingly difficult to view these releases as isolated pieces of nostalgia.
Hasbro has been putting a surprising amount of attention back onto “Jem and the Holograms.”
Earlier this year came the “Music Is Magic” EP, bringing more of the franchise’s music back into the spotlight.
There was also the wonderfully unexpected “Jem” x Cold Slither collaboration, crossing the musical worlds of two Hasbro animated favorites.
Britta Phillips, the original singing voice of Jem, recently returned to perform as part of the sold-out “The Transformers: The Movie” 40th Anniversary Celebration of Life Concert.
Fans can also revisit Jem’s reimagining of Wham!’s “Last Christmas” as the holiday season rolls around.
Now The Misfits are joining the party.
Taken together, it feels like Hasbro is steadily rebuilding the musical world surrounding “Jem,” allowing songs that originated inside an animated series four decades ago to exist as actual streaming releases for longtime fans and entirely new listeners.
And there is perhaps no better time to do it.
“Jem and the Holograms” has been receiving renewed attention as Amazon MGM Studios continues development on a new live-action television series based on the property.
That project has the potential to introduce Jem, The Holograms, The Misfits and their wonderfully dramatic musical rivalry to an entirely new generation.
Meanwhile, Hasbro is making sure the music that helped define the original series isn’t being left behind.
That matters particularly for “Jem.”
Music wasn’t simply something playing underneath the action.
It was part of the identity of the series.
Jem and the Holograms had their songs.
The Misfits had theirs.
The rivalry between the groups played out just as much through their performances as it did through the wonderfully outrageous drama surrounding them.
Seeing Hasbro treat those songs as a genuine catalog worth revisiting, reimagining and putting onto modern streaming platforms gives this latest “Jem” resurgence something more than nostalgia alone.
It gives the franchise’s music another life of its own.
And now that The Misfits have officially entered the revival, that musical world is getting considerably bigger.
