Sometimes the best way to create new Disney memories is by bringing back a little magic from the past.
For generations of families, a trip to Disneyland has been about far more than stepping aboard favorite attractions or meeting beloved characters. There are traditions woven throughout a day at the Happiest Place on Earth—from finding that perfect spot along the parade route to gathering beneath the nighttime sky and watching Sleeping Beauty Castle come alive.
And in 2027, some beloved Disneyland traditions are coming back.
During D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney revealed that three fan-favorite entertainment offerings will make their return to Disneyland Resort next year, bringing familiar music, characters and plenty of memories back to the parks.
So get those parade spots ready. There is quite a bit of returning Disney magic ahead.
“Remember… Dreams Come True” Returns to Disneyland
Beginning in February 2027, Disneyland Park will once again ask guests to believe in the power of dreams with the return of “Remember… Dreams Come True.”
Originally created for Disneyland’s 50th anniversary celebration, the nighttime spectacular is something of a love letter to the park itself.
With an introduction from Disney Legend Julie Andrews, the show brings together music and familiar moments from throughout Disneyland history while celebrating the wishes and dreams that have remained at the heart of Disney storytelling.
But this won’t simply be the exact same show longtime fans remember.
Disney is refreshing the spectacular with projections stretching beyond Sleeping Beauty Castle to the Rivers of America, the facade of “it’s a small world” and even Main Street, U.S.A.
The show will be presented nightly with music and projections, while select evenings will add fireworks over Disneyland.
For longtime fans who remember seeing the spectacular during its original run—and parents now introducing their own children to Disneyland—it creates an opportunity to experience a familiar piece of park history all over again.
The Original “World of Color” Makes a Splash Again
Across the way at Disney California Adventure, another familiar nighttime favorite is preparing to illuminate the water.
An updated take on the original “World of Color” will return in February 2027.
The spectacular will once again take guests through the worlds of Disney and Pixar with stories including The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo and Toy Story.
Even its musical roots stretch deep into Disney history, incorporating an arrangement of the Sherman Brothers’ theme for Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color.
For a show built around generations of Disney storytelling, bringing it back feels particularly fitting as Disneyland itself continues moving forward.
“Magic Happens” Once Again
Of course, Disney magic isn’t limited to what happens after the sun goes down.
By summer 2027, “Magic Happens” will once again make its way through Disneyland Park.
Led by Mickey Mouse and his friends, the daytime parade blends classic Disney stories with newer favorites through elaborate floats, performers, costumes and music.
There are pumpkins transforming into carriages.
Legendary swords waiting to be pulled from stones.
And characters from stories including Cinderella, The Sword in the Stone and Pixar’s Coco filling the streets.
It is exactly the sort of Disney tradition that can stop a family in the middle of their day and turn an ordinary walk through the park into something considerably more magical.
Old Magic, New Memories
Disneyland will always continue changing.
New attractions arrive. New characters become favorites. New generations of children walk down Main Street, U.S.A. for the very first time.
But there is also something special about preserving—and occasionally bringing back—the experiences that helped generations fall in love with the parks in the first place.
For some guests, these returning shows will be nostalgic pieces of their own Disneyland history.
For others, 2027 will be the first time they ever see them.
And that might be the real magic behind bringing these Disneyland traditions back.
The shows may be familiar.
But the memories families make watching them can be completely new.
