Friendship truly is magic once again.
After years of introducing new generations of ponies and exploring different corners of Equestria, Hasbro is officially returning to the legacy that transformed My Little Pony into a global phenomenon.
Announced today, My Little Pony: Forever Friendship is an all-new animated series set to premiere on YouTube in early 2027, bringing Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy back together for an entirely new adventure inspired by the beloved era of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
For longtime fans, the announcement marks one of the franchise’s biggest moments in years.
Rather than introducing an entirely new cast, Forever Friendship embraces the characters that helped define a generation of animation fans while delivering a fresh visual style and new stories centered around friendship, magic and emotional growth.
The bi-weekly digital series will follow the iconic ponies through heartfelt adventures exploring individuality, belonging and the everyday magic that has remained at the heart of My Little Pony for more than four decades.
Leading the project is showrunner Gretchen Mallorie alongside director Tayhan Mustafa, the creative duo behind My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale and Transformers: Cyberworld. Together with Lil Critter Workshop and illustrator Nicholas Kole, the series introduces a vibrant new artistic direction while preserving the warmth, optimism and emotional storytelling fans have come to expect from Equestria.
The return of Twilight Sparkle also represents something much larger for the franchise.
Since My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic first premiered in 2010, the series has become one of the most influential chapters in My Little Pony history, introducing millions of viewers around the world to the values of kindness, loyalty, honesty, generosity, laughter and friendship. Its impact continues to be felt today through conventions, merchandise, music and a passionate fan community that has remained active long after the series concluded.
