Bluey Continues Its Publishing Journey With First-Ever Audiobook Collection

From picture books and activity books to chapter books and now audiobooks, children’s entertainment continues to find new ways to bring beloved stories beyond the television screen.

The latest franchise expanding its publishing footprint is Bluey.

BBC Studios and Penguin Random House have officially announced Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories, the very first audiobook collection inspired by the globally beloved preschool phenomenon. Arriving Sept. 1, the release marks another exciting chapter in Bluey’s ever-growing publishing journey while giving families an entirely new way to experience some of the series’ most cherished adventures.

Narrated by Australian actress Miranda Tapsell, who voices Dougie’s mum in the animated series, the collection brings together eight fan-favorite stories, including Baby Race, Barky Boats, The Beach, Charades, Daddy Robot, Magic Xylophone, The Pool and Typewriter.

The announcement also reflects a broader trend throughout children’s entertainment. As today’s biggest franchises continue expanding beyond television through books, comics, magazines and audiobooks, publishers are creating even more opportunities for families to enjoy their favorite characters during storytime, road trips, classroom listening sessions and bedtime routines.

For Bluey, that evolution feels especially natural. Since first capturing hearts around the world, the franchise has grown far beyond its award-winning animated series, building an expansive publishing program that has become a meaningful part of everyday family life. Audiobooks now represent the next step in that journey, allowing young listeners to revisit favorite adventures in an entirely new format.

Shared storytelling has always been at the heart of childhood, and audiobooks continue to grow as an important part of that experience. Whether listening together on a family road trip, winding down before bedtime or encouraging emerging readers to engage with stories in new ways, audio opens another door into worlds children already know and love.

As Bluey continues expanding across publishing, live experiences, digital content and beyond, releases like Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories demonstrate how today’s biggest children’s franchises are no longer confined to a single medium. Instead, they are building rich storytelling ecosystems where families can enjoy their favorite characters however they choose.

Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories will be released worldwide on Sept. 1, 2026.
