Original “Owl House” Graphic Novel Updates Cover Art

Following up on a story first published back in mid-February, fans of Disney’s popular and beloved fantasy animated series, “The Owl House,” will soon be able to return to the world of magic and Titans in an all-new story.

Arriving September 29 in both physical and ebook formats, this 144-page graphic novel chronicles what happens to these beloved characters following the conclusion of the animated series.

While we had already received a summary for the forthcoming release earlier this year—one that has yet to be modified—we now have our first look at a brand-new cover for the publication.

And it is certainly striking.

Previously, the original cover showcased the story’s lead, King, front and center, with the various other characters arranged behind him in a more collage-style presentation. This time, however, the artwork takes a dramatically different approach.

Everyone isn’t there.

Instead, the cover focuses solely on King and an injured Eda as they make their way through a snowy, wintery landscape. The only signs of life are the footprints left behind them, marking where they have been rather than where they are going.

It’s a far more editorial and even haunting visual, one that appears to lean into a theme of disconnection.

Winter is often associated with slumber, rest, cold, and distance. Snow creates obstacles, making travel more difficult—perhaps serving as a metaphor for the emotional or physical challenges that may await these characters within the story itself.

This more isolated visual presentation suggests a struggle is unfolding, something further reinforced by Eda’s condition on the cover.

That feeling is also echoed by a single line now featured beneath the title:

“Intended for older readers.”

Combined with the shift in artistic direction and the addition of that very specific callout, all signs point toward a story that will likely be more intense, emotional, and reflective than fans may be expecting.

For longtime viewers, this is shaping up to be an emotional roller coaster as they step into a landscape that explores what happens after the ever after.
