For families who can’t get enough of Masha and the Bear, there’s plenty of good news to celebrate.
Netflix has officially expanded its partnership with Animaccord, securing two additional seasons of the globally beloved preschool series while also extending rights to previous seasons and fan-favorite spin-offs.
The new agreement will bring Seasons 8 and 9 of Masha and the Bear to Netflix, ensuring that audiences across more than 100 countries can continue following the adventures of the energetic young Masha and her patient bear companion.
And it sounds like the next chapter will be a big one.
According to Animaccord, the upcoming episodes will see Masha taking a major step forward as she enters kindergarten for the very first time. Fans can also look forward to a brand-new winter adventure featuring the Yeti family, alongside special event-style stories and significant character moments designed to keep the long-running series feeling fresh.
Netflix will also continue streaming Seasons 1 through 7, as well as spin-off favorites Masha’s Tales and Masha’s Spooky Stories.
Few preschool series can claim the kind of worldwide reach that Masha and the Bear has achieved over the years. What began as an animated adaptation inspired by Russian folklore has grown into one of the most recognizable children’s entertainment brands on the planet.
Today, the franchise stands alongside powerhouse preschool names such as CoComelon, Peppa Pig and PAW Patrol, with billions of views accumulated across digital platforms.
Its success on YouTube remains especially impressive. The official channel now boasts more than 55 million subscribers, while the episode Recipe for Disaster continues to hold its place among the most-viewed videos ever uploaded to the platform, surpassing 4.6 billion views.
But that’s not the only major development happening in the world of Masha and the Bear.
Series creator Oleg Kuzovkov is also moving forward with the franchise’s first-ever feature film through his newly established production company, Studio MiM.
Following the expiration of a previous licensing agreement, Kuzovkov has regained creative control of the characters and is developing a completely new theatrical vision of the property. The planned film will serve as a fresh starting point for the franchise, introducing audiences to a reimagined version of Masha and her world while maintaining the humor, warmth and heart that helped make the original series a global success.
Production on the feature film is currently targeting completion by the end of 2028.
For now, however, fans can look ahead to even more adventures arriving on Netflix as Masha and the Bear continues to prove why it remains one of the biggest preschool franchises in the world.
