Though the holiday season may still be a ways off, Disney is already setting the stage for its next festive feature.
From ROR Film and NorthRose Pictures, a new live-action/CGI family adventure centered around Winnie-the-Pooh is slated to arrive in holiday 2027. Inspired by the beloved stories from A. A. Milne, this latest outing will take Pooh and his friends on an all-new journey—this time in New York City during Christmastime.
While audiences have seen modern updates to Pooh’s world before, Winnie-the-Pooh in the City looks to strike a new chord with both longtime fans and a new generation.
Details remain limited following the initial announcement, but it has been confirmed that legacy voice actor Jim Cummings will return to voice both Pooh and Tigger, adding a sense of continuity and nostalgia to the project.
Based on early information, the story will follow Pooh and his friends as they leave their home within the New York Public Library to embark on a heartfelt adventure alongside a lonely young girl. Set against the backdrop of a bustling holiday season in New York City, the film centers on a timeless message: growing up doesn’t mean leaving the magic of childhood behind.
This new installment not only introduces a fresh take on Pooh’s world and its underlying lore, but also arrives at a time when family-driven holiday films have become increasingly rare—positioning it as a potentially meaningful addition to Disney’s seasonal lineup.
