Time To Play With Netflix Playground

Kids Can Watch, Learn and Play — All on Netflix

Netflix is making a bigger move into kids content, and this time it goes beyond just watching.

The platform has announced an expansion of its preschool and kids lineup, with new series, returning favorites, and a new interactive experience that brings play directly into the mix.

The biggest addition here is Netflix Playground, an interactive app built for kids ages 8 and under.

It lets kids jump into activities with familiar characters like Peppa Pig and Sesame Street, turning what would normally be passive viewing into something more hands-on. There are games, creative activities, and simple experiences designed to keep things engaging without being complicated.

It’s included with a Netflix subscription and skips ads and in-app purchases, which makes a difference for parents. Everything is also playable offline, so it works just as well on the go.

Netflix is also continuing with what’s already working.

Trash Truck is coming back for a third season, and The Creature Cases is getting more episodes, continuing its mix of storytelling and problem-solving that has connected well with younger viewers.

A new preschool series, Young MacDonald, is also on the way.

The show follows the grandson of Old MacDonald and leans into music, problem-solving and everyday farm life. It fits right in with the rest of Netflix’s push toward content that blends entertainment with learning.

There’s also a steady lineup of releases coming up:

  • My Sesame Street Friends: My Elmo — April 13
  • CoComelon Lane Season 7 — April 20
  • My Sesame Street Friends: My Abby — April 27
  • Dr. Seuss’s Horton! Season 2 — May 4
  • Mark Rober’s CrunchLabs Season 4 — May 11
  • Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie — May 23
  • Sesame Street Season 56, Volume 3 — June 8
  • Ms. Rachel Season 3 — this summer

Other additions like Danny Go! and Swapped help round things out with a mix of energy, humor and interactive-style content.

Netflix is clearly putting more focus on kids content, but the bigger shift is how that content is being used.

With Netflix Playground and a growing lineup of both new and returning titles, the platform is starting to move toward a more interactive experience — not just watching, but actually engaging with what’s on screen.

Jocelin Cap: Mother of three. That does not include the dog or my husband either! We have a full household of fun and we just love trying new products of all varieties. May not watch as many kids shows as the rest of the family though.
