Sometimes the best things come in small packages. With Disney’s brand-new Locker Diaries, fans can experience some of their favorite Disney series in a vertical format.
Everyone enjoys short-form vertical content, and what better way to take a quick break from your daily tasks or chores than with the likes of Phineas & Ferb?
With that sentiment in mind, Disney is swiping into our feeds with this all-new micro-drama storytelling experiment, Locker Diaries. Created specifically for vertical viewing, this eleven-part series focuses on characters from Disney hits including Phineas & Ferb, ZOMBIES, and Descendants. These short-form episodes allow fans to enjoy small doses of comedy, drama, and thrills — all unfolding in school hallways and told through open locker doors.
With short-form content on the rise and micro-dramas continuing to gain traction, this move feels incredibly strategic. The innovation of using something as universal — and even slightly mundane — as a school locker as the gateway between the viewer and the story is clever. Not only have schools, and specifically lockers, long served as focal points in Disney storytelling, but the setting itself is highly relatable and offers strong narrative flexibility. We hope to see the series expanded to feature even more Disney films and shows.
Currently, the first two episodes centered around ZOMBIES are streaming on Disney+, as well as across Disney Channel’s official YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok accounts. New episodes of Locker Diaries are scheduled to roll out every Saturday through mid-April. The shorts are also set to air on Disney Channel in March and will be available via Disney Channel On Demand.
