Coming off its 30th anniversary, acclaimed Italian entertainment company Rainbow has spent the past year developing new projects and expanding its creative footprint.
Although the year is coming to a close, Rainbow has one more major announcement: the acquisition of the beloved literary and animated property Geronimo Stilton.
Written by Elisabetta Dami, the Geronimo Stilton stories have sold more than 190 million copies in over 50 languages, enchanting fans around the world with the adventures of the journalist mouse. The series follows the reluctant hero and editor of The Rodent’s Gazette, whose curiosity often leads him into unexpected—and unforgettable—adventures.
While Rainbow has previously represented Geronimo Stilton for global licensing and publishing, this new acquisition opens the door to even greater growth potential and content expansion. Beginning in 2026, Rainbow plans to usher in a new chapter for the franchise through expanded publishing, digital, and entertainment initiatives, reaching new audiences and generations who may not yet have been introduced to Geronimo Stilton.
With a core focus on creating new content that preserves the brand’s key identity, Rainbow is well positioned to craft what may become another beloved era of storytelling for years to come.
This move aligns with Rainbow’s broader goal of becoming a leading force in family-friendly entertainment for global audiences. Alongside long-running hit Winx Club and newer animated entry Mermaid Magic, Rainbow is clearly positioning itself as a growing global animation powerhouse—and we look forward to seeing what comes next.
