We now have a name as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be arriving in theaters in April of 2026 and we could not be more excited. While some people thought the sequel would be based on Super Mario World, especially with that Yoshi egg tease at the end of the first movie, Nintendo has flipped it on us and taking us on a wild new adventure that has fans hyped. You see some of these Nintendo games are core childhood memories and getting a movie around that is just awesome especially when we hear some of that classic music playing. And while we do not see a lot in the trailer, we see our beloved animation style. We are hopeful to get some new fan-favorite characters in this installment and maybe just maybe it means that we might get a Super Mario Sunshine sequel at some point. This could also mean that with the Switch 2 we might get a new Mario Galaxy game to go along with the movie, one can only hope. We also wonder if the new The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will mean any updates or overlays to Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios.
