The Owl House On Disney Channel Draws Inspiration from Bosch, Bilibin, and Varo

While we are not ready to speak about the first episode of The Owl House just yet, we can tell you the level of detail in the animation and world building are stunning. Well in the next #HooKnew we find out that there was a lot of artistic inspiration from “Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch, Russian illustrator Ivan Bilibin and Spanish artist Remedios Varo” and you should do yourself a favor and take a look at their work.

The Owl House creator Dana Terrace has spoken of her influences as part of her childhood and growing up around artwork and we just have to say that it does “look” amazing in animated form. We are so intrigued by the ability of the show to create a horror show for this audience, but if the backgrounds are any indication we should be in good hands. Stay tuned for some more The Owl House information as we watch the first episode a few times.

I feel the same way and continue to watch the Disney channel in my 40s. Check out our BSCKids youtube channel Current favorite show is Amphibia.
