GIZMODUCK
The new episode of DuckTales premieres today at 3 P.M. and with THE DANGEROUS CHEMISTRY OF GANDRA DEE we get more Gizmoduck (Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera) and his mother Officer Cabrera. We also get introduced to the new character of Gandra Dee, played by Jameela Jamil, who is a punk-rock scientist. It seems that she will not have the best intentions for our hero Gizmoduck though. Can we tell you how much we love the fact of a punk-rock scientist character in DuckTales though.
THE DANGEROUS CHEMISTRY OF GANDRA DEE – With Huey’s and Webby’s help, Fenton woos a punk-rock scientist, Gandra Dee, only to uncover her dangerous plans for Gizmoduck. *Jameela Jamil (“The Good Place”) guest stars as Gandra Dee. Lin-Manuel Miranda (Broadway’s “Hamilton”) and Selenis Leyva (“Orange Is the New Black”) return as Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera/Gizmoduck and Officer Cabrera, respectively.
Phew, that is another new character introduced to DuckTales, and while it will dictate another discussion, there is this feeling that they are introducing a lot of new characters and many different story lines that really don’t feel like they are all going to come together. Are we set up for a season finale where Magica De Spell, General Lunaris, and Darkwing Duck all make some appearance for the battle of Earth? Is Della Duck going to stay on the show past this season? We feel like Donald will make his way back to Earth when the General makes a play to take it over, but there are just a lot of stories going on and a lot of new characters that have been introduced to the new DuckTales.
