Amphibia And The Owl House have been recognized as Animation Magazine Rising Stars of Animation for 2019, and the hype around these two shows is growing exponentially.
While it is starting to sound like we will get Amphibia episodes premiering in the summer of 2019 on Disney Channel The Owl House seems like it will show up in 2020.
We shuffle back and forth between which (witch) show we are more excited for, but while Amphibia looks to be a fun romp with comedy and friendship, The Owl House has our interest meter peaked. There is something about animated horror-comedy that just feels good these days, and it falls right in line with what we thought about Gravity Falls. Let us hope that both of the shows are pure winners.
“Amphibia” is an animated comedy series that chronicles the adventures of 13-year-old Anne Boonchuy, who is magically transported to the fantastical world of Amphibia, a rural marshland full of frog-people. With the help of an excitable young frog named Sprig, Anne will transform into a hero and discover the first true friendship of her life. Created and executive-produced by Matt Braly, “Amphibia” premieres summer 2019 on Disney Channel.
“The Owl House” is an animated horror-comedy series that follows Luz, a self-assured teenage human girl who accidentally stumbles upon a portal to the Demon Realm where she befriends a rebellious witch, Eda, and an adorably tiny warrior, King. Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda’s apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting. Created and executive-produced by Dana Terrace, “The Owl House” is slated to premiere early 2020 on Disney Channel.
