When it comes to shows we watch as a family, Food Network usually has the most of them and we love to see what they have to offer for the holiday seasons. It has been announced that there is going to be a new competition called the Haunted Gingerbread Showdown, which will premiere on Sunday, October 7th at 10pm, so you might need to record it for the people who can’t stay up that late or catch it on when it airs again at an earlier time.
This Halloween, Food Network is putting the haunted back into haunted house with the thrilling competition Haunted Gingerbread Showdown, premiering Sunday, October 7th at 10pm ET/PT. Over four episodes, host Sandra Lee pits nine of the best gingerbread artists in the country against each other to create spooky gingerbread masterpieces that embody the season. Judges Jamika Pessoa and Jason Smith are joined by rotating judges, including the “Mistress of the Dark” herself, Elvira, to determine the winners of the first three heats, who will square off against each other in the finale for a chance to win the ultimate Halloween treat — $25,000 and to be featured in Food Network Magazine. But beware, these aren’t your grandma’s cute gingerbread houses. With surprises lurking around every corner, these wildly haunted original creations tell a darker story.
There will be nine gingerbread artists that will try to create the best haunted house with gingerbread and will be judged by Jamika Pessoa, Jason Smith as well as some special guest judges that include Elvira. We hope that it will be a show that will not be too dark that younger kids as it seems like it will be a really fun competition. Food Network also has some other Halloween specials so check out their schedule for all the fun stuff in October.
