The Sofia the First – Forever Royal trailer has been released and it is a little bittersweet as we get prepared to see the finale of a wonderful animated show that started in 2012. The extended episode, movie, will air on September 8th at 11:00 a.m. on Disney Junior and DisneyNOW and we can’t wait.
The video is action packed as Sofia has been tasked with coming back to the Mystic Isles to battle the evil witch Vor. Vor is trying to conquer the kingdom of Enchancia by trapping Sofia in the Mystic Isles. Sofia looks to be up to the task though as we see in the trailer that she looks to be defeating a bunch of Vor’s warriors.
The animation looks great based on the trailer and we are going to get a bunch of new songs out of this movie as well. The trailer ends with the narrator telling Sofia “The ultimate test still lies before you” as we fade to the logo for the movie.
We have also seen a previous clip from the finale as well where Sofia is singing with her mother, and you can check that out here. We just love hearing Ariel Winter sing, and we will miss that part of the show the most.
Sofia the First is a show that many children have grown up on as it has had a pretty long run. It has also given us the spin-off Elena of Avalor and maybe that is where we see Sofia pop up from time to time. We are still hoping that we may at some point get to see a grown up Sofia the First in her own Disney movie, but at this point that may be just a dream. Make sure to tune in for this finale, and we will miss you Sofia.
