In a world of year round sports, and kids striving for a scholarship while still in middle school Double Dare brings us something different in competition form. Growing up with the show, I always dreamed of just getting on this game show, and I believe that this was the dream of many of my friends. Having the show come back for a new generation of kids is wonderful and allows them to have the same dreams that we had growing up, a show that was fun to watch and didn’t put any pressure on us. Double Dare wasn’t always won by the most athletic or the smartest kids, it was something that just happened and the Double Dare show could go any which way, including sideways on the challenges. The luck of the Double Dare physical challenges was real and trying to find the flag could be an impossible task on the Obstacle Course.
No matter what happened though, the show looked fun and we all longed to participate.

Nickelodeon is bringing back Double Dare with Liza Koshy as the host and Marc Summers from the original show will give the commentary on the challenges and hopefully the Obstacle Course portion as well. We look forward to bringing this show to a new audience and the thing we really hope is that the prizes are just as good as the original with some wonderfully fun family trips if you can conquer the course.
Get ready for a summer full of Double Dare, as Nickelodeon sets Monday, June 25, at 8:00 PM (ET/PT) as the premiere date for the iconic game show’s return. Digital creator and actress Liza Koshy has been tapped to host the brand-new version of Double Dare, where a new generation of fans will compete in the messiest and most physically challenging competition of their lives.
Bringing together new fans and the iconic game show’s millennial audience from the ‘90s, original series host Marc Summers returns to give color commentary on the challenges, lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode.
Liza Koshy looks to be a great host, and from all that we have seen we are looking forward to seeing her host the show. We are also hopeful that the challenges and obstacles will be a mix of both classic and new things. The show will also be getting some live experiences giving new fans the opportunity to try some Double Dare at VidCon 2018 in Anaheim, Calif., and all summer long at Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America in Minneapolis.
The Double Dare show premiered on Oct. 6, 1986, on Nickelodeon, and it ran from 1986-1993, making it the network’s longest running game show and one of our favorites. Forget training for travel sports every day, take some time out to start training for Double Dare.
