Sisters Demetra Zorbas and Callista Zorbas, who will be starring in “The Adventures of Snow White and Rose Red,” took some time out of their schedule to talk to us about the show in an exclusive interview. The sisters play the roles of Snow White (Demetra Zorbas) and Rose Red (Callista Zorbas) which fits them quite well as they are sisters in real life as well as on the show.
The show is a wholesome show for children in a live action fairy tale form on Amazon and we were very happy to get a chance to talk to them about it.

BSCKids: Tell us a bit about your characters in “The Adventures of Snow White & Rose Red” and how you got the roles?
DZ: Snow White is a quiet, cautious girl who is also very strong and kindhearted. She loves to read and spend time with her family.
CZ: Rose Red has an adventurous spirit. She is brave and full of life. Rose also loves spending time with her family, especially her sister, Snow White.
Both: We both met Nicole Coady at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs. At the time we were auditioning for one of her students films. After landing the part, she had the chance to see us act and asked us to audition for her show, “The Adventures of Snow White and Rose Red.”
BSCKids: Were they any cool things that happened behind the scenes while filming?
DZ: We were able to work with a great cast and crew and we’ve made a lot of new friends. I also loved working with the different animals (wolf dog, hedgehog and a rabbit.)
CZ: The whole experience of filming was cool. To see how it all came together was a great learning experience. Filming at our family’s cabin was super cool too.
BSCKids: What has been your favorite prop while filming the show that you can tell us about?
DZ: My favorite prop was definitely the oversized fairy tale book! I love to read and see beautiful illustrations. Snow White’s book was handmade and lovely.
CZ: I think my favorite prop was Rose Red’s bow and arrow. The way they filmed Rose Red in the Rapunzel episode, I look like an expert archer!
BSCKids: Do you share any similarities with your characters and your own personality?
DZ: Yes, the roll was perfect for me. Snow White is a lover of animals, sensitive to others, and could read books all day. I’m just like her.
CZ: Rose Red and I have many similarities. She is adventurous, likes to get things done, and she is very close to her sister and family. I am as well.
BSCKids: How do you get in character and where did you find your inspiration for playing the roles?
DZ: A lot of my inspiration comes from watching other great actors. I would imagine myself as Snow White, and create a world for her, from what she ate to how she carried herself. It was easy, because I put a lot of “Me” into the character. Practicing with my sister helped me get into character too.
CZ: It was great to have my sister, play my sister in the show. We got to practice a whole lot together using our imagination and becoming Snow and Rose in our daily life. Spending time outside in nature was a great inspiration. Both Rose Red and Snow White love being outdoors in their magical forest.
BSCKids: What do you think kids can learn from watching the show?
DZ: No matter where you come from, you can always help others in need, and accomplish many things if you work together.
CZ: Each episode has a very positive message. The message I love is, the importance of family and friends and how we should respect one another.
BSCKids: Tell us something that people would be surprised to find out about you?
DZ: I enjoy playing war games (computer and board games.)
CZ: My siblings and I study broad sword fighting.
BSCKids: If you could guest star on another show which one would it be and why?
DZ: I would like to guest star on, “Stranger Things,” It’s a great show.
CZ: If I could guest star on Nickelodeon’s TMNT—that would be epic! I think it would be a blast to be a voice actor.
The Adventures of Snow White & Rose Red is a live action fairy tale show featuring two sisters, Rose Red and Snow White, from humble beginnings who live in a cottage in the woods with their parents.
