Even though we have missed the first event, take a look below to see the rest of the cool events that Nickelodeon has scheduled for Summer Celebration of Play which will lead up to Worldwide Day of Play on September 29th. This will mean that on that day, Nickelodeon will suspend its programming to get children to go outside and be active with all sorts of play. We fully support this event and want everyone to take a look at the rest of the fun things below.
Nickelodeon is kicking off its summer-long play campaign, a slime-filled cross-country tour that celebrates all the ways kids love to play. As part of the net’s Worldwide Day of Play (WWDoP) initiative, the tour will bring activities to events in Phoenix, Ariz.; St. Louis, Mo.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Oakland, Calif.; and Brooklyn, N.Y., leading up to Nick’s 15th annual Worldwide Day of Play on Saturday, Sept. 29, when Nickelodeon and its sister channels–Nick Jr., Nicktoons, TeenNick and NickMusic–will suspend programming and host grassroots activities with its partners across the U.S. to encourage kids to go outside and get active.
The next event will be in June followed by one in August and two in September before the big day. The Oakland A’s will help out with one of the events in September with the other event being the fun filled slime fest in N.Y.
For Nickelodeon’s cross-country play campaign, the net is partnering with non-profit organizations and foundations for fun-filled events that will feature Nick-themed games including a Super Slime obstacle course and Nick bowling, a slime booth, costume characters and more.
Tour stops include:
•May 24, Phoenix, Ariz. – Nickelodeon will team up with the Children’s Museum of Phoenix for an end-of-school celebration.
•June 21, St. Louis, Mo. – The net will partner with The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum for an event celebrating the first day of summer.
•August 19, Pittsburgh, Pa. – Nick will head to Heinz Field for the Pittsburgh Steelers Family Fest.
