Our kids grew up on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, all of them, but now Disney is going to be showing us Mickey Mouse and his friends in a different cartoon, Mickey and the Roadster Racers which will air this January on the 15th starting at 9:00 A.M. EST on Disney Junior. This reminds me a lot of Wacky Races from when I was growing up, but the question is going to be will there be a villain they are racing against or will it just be a friendly race that spotlights different locations? I am sure we are going to see a Pete racer at some point in the series, is he the Piston Pietro listed below? I also love the fact we get to see both Chip and Dale in the Race for the Rigatoni Ribbon! episode. Will they be racers themselves or just showing up to help the gang? Also in Mickey’s Wild Tire! Jiminy Johnson makes an appearance, I am wonder if he is a cricket?

Geared towards Kids 2-7, the stories, told using a combination of CG animation and live action footage, are designed to impart social and emotional lessons about friendship, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

DAISY DUCK, MINNIE MOUSEMICKEY AND THE ROADSTER RACERS – “Race for the Rigatoni Ribbon!” – Mickey and the gang compete against Piston Pietro throughout Rome, while a runaway giant meatball chases after Goofy. MICKEY MOUSE, DONALD DUCK, CHIP, DALE
You can check out some pictures from these episodes below (and above), but I just love how they have really made each one of the racecars fit the driver. For Mickey we have an old school race car with the ears on the back, Donald has a life preserver on his boat shaped car to fit his character, while Daisy has a flower themed car. Not to be left out Minney’s iconic bow is what her car is designed after. I think this is going to be a great way to carry on the Disney Characters in a new format and look forward to how they will integrate live action footage into the show.
