The first official poster for the upcoming live action Beauty and the Beast has released and its absolutely stunning to say the least. Walt Disney Pictures unveiled the poster yesterday which you can see above.
Beauty and the Beast has an impressively all star cast including Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou, Kevin Kline as Maurice (Belle’s father), Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, and Stanley Tucci as a grand piano named Cadenza.
In case you are unfamiliar, Beauty and the Beast follows the tale of Belle, a young woman who is taken prisoner by a Beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s exterior to recognize the true heart and soul of the human Prince within, just as a hunter named Gaston takes on the task to look for Belle himself and have her for his wife (and all to himself despite her rebukes) and hunt down the Beast at any cost
The adaptation will be directed by Bill Condon with a script by Stephen Chbosky. The project will be produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Excitingly the Eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards for the 1991 original animated classic, has written three new songs for the production with Sir Tim Rice.
Walt Disney Pictures will release the movie on March 17, 2017.
