At first it was going to be a DVD release and then someone over at Disney realized that Disney Planes was probably going to be a huge hit and it is now making its way to the movie theaters on August 9th, 2013. The Disney Planes Video game will be release a few days prior on August 6th and we are really looking forward to what they do with the Wii U version. Planes has the voice talent of Dane Cook as Dusty as well as many other famous voices for what looks like (based on the pictures) to be a super fun cast of characters. Plus if we all remember, Planes, just like Car lend themselves to making a lot of super fun toys for the kids.
I have fond memories of playing the Disney Cars games with my kids at our house and based on what Disney has done in the past, I think we should see a pretty solid game here. What I always find nice is Disney does not go over complicating the controls of the games, but makes it challenging enough that you will not get bored. Looking forward to another solid title in our Wii U library this summer and make sure to go check out the movie version of Disney’s Planes on August 9th nationwide (and also be thankful that you will be able to see it on the big screen in all of its glory).
Here are some photos from the Wii U and 3DS in Game shots:
