Two Independent StoryBook Apps Win Parent’s Award

Two mobile apps from indie publishers have received the Parent’s Choice Gold Award. The two apps were storybook apps featuring the stories of Cinderella and The Three Little Pigs. The developer, Nosy Crow, received the honor from the oldest nonprofit program created to recognize quality children’s media in the United States.

The award judges described The Three Little Pigs and Cinderella as being charming as well as beautiful and humorous for children and adults.

The President of Parents’ Choice Foundation, Claire S. Green said,

“Oh that Nosy Crow! They’ve gone and recreated the Three Little Pigs as you’ve not seen them before. Each piglet has more personality than ever; Mom and Dad can’t wait for their nest to be empty, the eldest boy is a nervous wreck, the girl appears worried but holds her pocketbook like the queen, and the youngest can’t wait to get started on his adventure … Charming to the core.”

Nosy Crow Book Apps was started by Kate Wilson, a mother of two who was also a publishing industry veteran. Nosy Crow takes well-known children’s book classics and turns them into 3D book apps that can ignite the love for reading in children as well as involve their parents.
