I recently got the chance to review the new debut album from Graffiti6. I first heard their single; “Free” a few months ago and I instantly loved it, so when I was offered the review copy I immediately jumped on it. And my first impressions were that it was amazing. There are very few times that a album with so many different styles of music can come together and be beautiful which is exactly what Graffiti6 did.
One of the things that I love about Graffiti6 is that they don’t stick to one type of pop music for the whole album. It has many different styles in it that all work together beautifully from the instrumentation to the singers inflection and powerful emotion.
My first impressions of the whole album are that I love the singer. I love the voice. It’s so full of an emotion that listening to the album was like taking a ride through his heart and soul. He definitely has a voice that I could listen to over and over again.
I have to say that “Free” is still my favorite song on the album. While the rest of the album is really well done and musically uplifting, “Free” is soul of the album. If you have ever been in love, then this song will speak to you. It takes the raw passions of someone in love and puts an invoking melody to it.
Many of the other songs on the album are more upbeat musically, than “Free” was. The next song that I really liked was “Never Look Back”. The fast paced lyrics and rhythm was fun and catchy. I ended up having the song stuck in my head for hours, which wasn’t bad at all. As a girl, I love “love” ballads but in the case, I really enjoyed the rhythmic tune bouncing around in my head for hours.
“Over You” was another song about love and life on the album. I did notice that with his intoxicating pop sounds, Graffiti6 mixes in a bit of R&B soul to his album. You can really feel it in this particular song.
I think this could be his next hit song if he releases it as a single.
Over all, this album definitely is worth buying. I think they made the right choice making “Free” the first single. I am pleased with the rest of the album and am sure that Graffiti6 will go far with their unique melodies and song lyrics.
