Post Offices are thinking of putting real life people on postage stamps.
E! Online broke the coverage that the American postal offices are thinking of adding stars like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga to their roster of available stamps. Throwing out the rule that only dead individuals can be featured on the stamps and have now opened up the suggestions for who should be the first living individual to receive the honor. This is where Lady Gaga comes in. The Edge of Glory singer has received who has won more than 100 awards in just three years and has been named the most powerful celebrity by TIME and Forbes. Other nominees include Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Bob Dylan and Mark Zuckerberg. The USPS has opened it up to the public to see what their opinion is in regards to this.
“Having really nice, relevant, interesting, fun stamps might make a difference in people’s decisions to mail a letter,” Stamp Services manager Stephen Kearney said in a statement. Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe added: “This change will enable us to pay tribute to individuals for their achievements while they are still alive to enjoy the honor.” Do you think Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber should be on USPS stamps?
